Is Peace Possible Without Women As An Equal Partner?

Details

“The world of humanity has two wings — one is women and the other men. Not until both wings are equally developed can the bird fly. Should one wing remain weak, flight is impossible.” ~ Baha’i Writings

Can humanity see a peaceful world without women as an equal partners to men? What does “equality” mean? Does it mean ‘everything man can do, women can do better’? Does the empowerment of women require taking away opportunities from men? Can humanity advance if women do not enjoy the same rights and opportunities as men? How can we build communities where everyone has the same opportunities to grow, develop and contribute to the progress of humankind? What do you think?

These are just some of the questions that will be open for discussion this morning … as, together, we consider questions regarding the equality of men and women from a spiritual perspective, based upon the sacred Writings of the Baha’i Faith, the most recent of the world’s independent religions. All opinions are welcome!!!

Equality between men and women is conducive to the abolition of warfare for the reason that women will never be willing to sanction it.”
~ Baha’i Writings
