Humanity is One! Now What?
Details
If we understand that our lives serve a purpose, to help unify all of humanity in peace and prosperity, we must also understand that such a lofty goal will not be attained in our lifetime. So, knowing this, what can we do now? How do we contribute to unity? There isn’t a “to do” list, a manual to follow, a 12-step program that makes each step 100% literal and concrete. We don’t say a few phrases, do a couple of good deeds and are allowed in the kingdom. We come to Meaningful Discussions to learn, and to understand, and grow. A lot of times I show up, listen, participate a little, and put what I learned on the shelf until next Sunday.
It’s time for us to open up the discussion, learning together how the Baha’i principle of the “Oneness of Humankind” might be translated into the reality of our lives, relationships, and communities. In this space of oneness, all views and each person – of every race, nationality, gender, age, class, and culture – are welcome.
“Ye are the fruits of one tree, and the leaves of one branch…. So powerful is the light of unity that it can illuminate the whole earth.” Baha’i Writings
We would rather you attend in person at 124 Madison in Oak Park, of course. Still, we'd rather see you online than not see you at all. So, just in case, here's a zoom link for this event: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/88158217522?pwd=cGxNeDR2eCthN0k2d2tlSk1sMnViQT09
