I hope the Great Heavenly Father , who will look down upon us, will give all the tribes His blessing, that we may go forth in peace, and live in peace all our days , and that He will look down upon our children and finally lift us far above this earth; and that our Heavenly Father will look upon our children as His children, that all the tribes may be His children, and as we shake hands to-day upon this broad plain, we may forever live in peace. ~ Red Cloud

The indigenous peoples in our country have long been marginalized and their values not considered important. There was many tribes that inhabited all of North American before European contact, yet their numbers and culture were decimated by many programs in order for the “New Settlers” to get their land. Their children were forced to go to Boarding Schools where the motto was “Kill the Indian and Save the Child” which left them and their descendants with long lasting generational trauma.

Yet, Baha’u’llah and the Baha’I Faith talk of their nobility. What can we learn from them?

As we sit in this wisdom circle we welcome everyone from every background and have created this as a safe place to learn. The main writings are from the Baha’I Faith and some from the Indigenous Elders. Welcome

We would rather you attend in person at 124 Madison in Oak Park, of course. Still, we'd rather see you online than not see you at all. So, just in case, here's a zoom link for this event: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/88158217522?pwd=cGxNeDR2eCthN0k2d2tlSk1sMnViQT09
