NOTE: This is a BETA TEST trail of a new class using Zoom. This class will be taught in person when we start classes in Baltimore MD. Beta tests are done using Zoom, but regular classes will be in person only.
(You will need a Zoom account to enter the class)

This class is going to be an overview of how computers use networks to communicate with each other in the age of Artificial Intelligence and distributed sensors.

We will discuss how devices are actually connected to each other whether it's in a home, an industrial setting, or even on a mountain top.

We will go over the specific technologies and products that are used to connect systems together.

We will talk about how AI can allow for "low quality" networking to be used in a more powerful fashion.

We will discuss the concept of Edge Computing and the concept of "Pushing Intelligence to the Edge" and what that means for building "intelligent" systems.

This class will go over:

  • What is Computer Networking
  • What is Edge Computing
  • Explain Different Types of Networks
  • What are Protocols
  • Topology and Typology
  • Routable vs Non Routable Networks
  • Understanding Latency and Speed
  • What is IoT
  • What is a Network Stack
  • What are LAN's, WAN's, MAN's and CAN's
  • and much more...

This class will break down the concepts of what is going on so that even no technical people should be able to have a better idea of how "AI" actually works. Example code will be written in Python and we will step through the code blocks for technical people to follow along.

Workbook and Code Samples will be posted to GitHub before class.
