1st Elixir GOTO Night: Introduction to Elixir + Case Study

Details
Dear Elixir GOTO'ers!
We are so excited to announce that we are finally hosting our first meetup in Zurich! Thank you for your patience :-)
At this first event we have invited Stefan Wintermeyer from Germany to give a short introduction to Elixir and to tell us how he used it to build an online social platform that is now his business:
GOTO Night's Talk Abstract:
"Being a long time Ruby on Rails developer it took major incentives to pull me to the Phoenix Framework world. Those where: The speed of Elixir, zero downtime deployments and painfree clustering of servers.
Using Phoenix for vutuv.de (http://vutuv.de/) saves us a lot of money for servers and offers our users a great WebPerformance. But using Elixir is not all sunshine and rainbows. I'll talk about the pros and cons of a relatively new functional programming language."
SHORT BIO: Stefan Wintermeyer
Stefan is a web application consultant with a strong brackground in Ruby on Rails. He published a couple of Ruby on Rails books and he's the founder of the social network https://www.vutuv.de (https://www.vutuv.de/)
As this is our first event we are curious to know what about Elixir interests you and what you expect from these evenings. We want to build a platform for all of you early-adopters that you can use to explore this (rather) new and awesome programming language.
