Elixir & Erlang Meetup 2024 Revival!

Details
Welcome to the first Elixir & Erlang Meetup after the 2020 Pandemic!
Our goal is to re-ignite and foster the BEAM community in Munch, share knowledge, insights and especially to get to know each other :)
Update: we decided to keep it in-person only instead of offering streaming, as it would be too difficult to keep a good engagement both online and in person. We will provide some recordings online afterwards though.
Agenda:
18:30 - Doors open, networking, food, drinks
19:00 - Francesco Cesarini (Founder & Technical Director @ Erlang Solutions): Thinking Concurrency: Dwelling in Erlang and Elixir
Abstract: The functional paradigm has been influencing mainstream languages for decades, making developers more efficient whilst helping reduce maintenance costs. As we are faced with a programming model that needs to scale on multi-core architectures and distributed environments, concurrency becomes critical. In these concurrency models, immutability, a key feature of functional programming paradigm will become even more evident. To quote Simon Peyton Jones, future concurrent languages will be functional; they might not be called functional, but the features will be. At this meetup, we will be discussing why!
19:30 - Eduardo Hernacki (Freelance Software Engineer): Functional Domain Modeling with Gleam
20:00 - Lightning Talks Open Stage: just let us know if you want to speak!
20:30 - Networking
Note:
If you have an office or co-working space for hosting future events, are interested in sponsoring food or drinks, or would like to present a (lightning) talk, please reach out to us!
