This Month:
Time: Wed 6th November 2024, 16:00-17:00,
Location: Erasmus Building, 18th floor, Room 18.02A/18.03,
Erasmusplein 1, 6525 HT Nijmegen
Speaker: Prof. Pim Haselager
Title: "Societal impact of AI & neurotechnology: The good, the bad and the ugly"

Abstract:
Obviously, there is a lot of progress in AI and CNS. The impact on society is large, but many questions are raised about the potentially good and bad consequences, and there is a lot of hype. Attempts at regulation can become chaotic, see e.g. the AI act and the discussion about neurorights. It will be increasingly important for scientists to actively participate in societal debates about the implications of AI & CNS. Pim will present various cases and discuss some pros and cons of active societal engagement.

For those who can not attend in person could join via the Webinar link here.
