I'm very excited to finally schedule Elm's first New York meetup!

Gust is graciously offering their fancy new office space to host this meetup. Stay tuned for updates on food/drink as I put in some lobbying efforts.

The structure of next Tuesday's meeting will be as follows:

  1. Introduction -- A chance for me to introduce you all to Gust's office, explore the goals of the meetup and poll you all on what you want to get out of it.
  2. Community Projects -- Any member of the community can talk for under 5 minutes about a project they're working on, a library they're building or any undertaking that they might want help with. Whether it's showing off, recruiting team members or soliciting feedback, feel free to use this time to do it! Let me know in advance of Tuesday if you'd like to speak.
  3. Hack Elm -- We'll split off into groups and toy around with Elm together. The goal is to collaboratively learn more about Elm while creating something that proves its usefulness. This meeting the theme will be Elm's facilities for "Modeling the Problem (http://elm-lang.org/guide/model-the-problem)" and we'll use Elm to develop illustrations of different data structures. More info to come!

Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions. In addition to email, I'm available in the elmlang slack channel (http://elmlang.slack.com/) as @noahzgordon.

Looking forward to seeing you all there!

-Noah
