about://EmbeddedIsraelMeetup#10
How many times did your device go to low power mode, and never came back until a reboot? Well, whether you see this as a power management event after a most respectful, 3 years suspend time, or as a hard reset - WE ARE BACK!

Courtesy of NoTraffic, who do some awesome stuff, we will meet each other on March 26th for some Embedded Linux talks, Pizzas, and drinks. Hopefully also some vegetables, to keep us lean.

The game plan is mingling, a couple of embedded/security related talks, and more mingling. In particular, we are going to focus on NVIDIA Jetson security, and the OP-TEE project.

We kindly request you mark your actual attendance on the RSVP, as we would like to prioritize those who are an active part of our community and want the event to be (somewhat) intimate and manageable.

So, if you registered, and see that you can't attend, please remember to unregister so that others on the waiting list could take your place. We don't want to annoy people by sending emails, so don't be the reason for that.

Want to participate in our community? JUST DO IT!
If you see these lines and want to host a meetup between April and June - please reach out to Ron. If you want to speak in such - submit your proposal here

Have any other requests? PARTICIPATE IN OUR GROUPS / EMAIL US - Our motto "do whatever we can and a little more for those who participate, and ignore completely those who don't" (OK, it was our motto for meetup #2, and I like it)

AGENDA:

Talk #0:

Title:
Embedded Israel is taking the reset vector!

Length:
A couple of minutes

Target Audience:
Embedded Israel community

Abstract:
We're back! In this short talk we'll either refresh your memory or introduce you for the first time to who we are and why we started this meetup/group.
Hopefully, we will introduce some hall of famers (you know who you are!) and do some nice get-to-know-you activities.

Speaker's bio:
We have not selected the speakers yet. Assume they are awesome. Why would you come to our event otherwise?! O_o

Talk #1:

Title:
How to secure your IoT devices (with particular examples on NVIDIA Jetson)

Length:
30min

Target Audience:
Good for all

Abstract:
We will talk about security considerations and solutions when dealing with IoT devices such as disabling J-Tag, Setting a Boot Loader Password, handling the secure storage of keys and more. The talk will be based on current work done on NVIDIA's Jetson device, so you can expect some interesting considerations of one of the most powerful and popular high-end embedded devices out there.

Speaker's bio:
Ofir Marcus, NoTraffic's Chief Architect has been writing code for cloud and ground applications for ten years. He is very much interested in security, IoT and other technical stuff.
He likes tennis, cats and dad jokes.

Talk #2
Title:
A nice, easy and practical introduction to TEE's with OP-TEE

Length:
30 min

Target Audience:
Every FW/SW Engineer/Developer who either cares about security, or fears they would have to implement something related to it, some day.

Abstract:
In this talk I will quickly explain the differences between different hardware assisted security elements such as TPM, SE, and TEE, and give the reasoning behind using TEE's (in a much less detailed manner than that of my ARM TrustZone talks). I will then survey a little bit of history of the OP-TEE project integration in the Linux kernel, and conclude by giving the attendees the means to confidently and easily play around with a full reference TEE implementation that requires no external hardware.

Speaker's bio:
Ron says: I'd rather show, teach or do, rather than talk about myself.
Bing Chat says: Ron Munitz is a parallel entrepreneur, specializing in Operating System internals and Embedded Software. He is the founder and CEO of the PSCG. He has helped numerous companies in building, reverse engineering and hardening all sort of devices on the ground, air, space, and over the ocean.

Talk #3
Closing notes (a couple of seconds), mostly wishing everyone a very good week! :-)
