What we’re about
Embodied Leadership Collective, previously known as Embodied Leadership Asheville, is now expanding!
Our core values will remain similar; however, we are transitioning to virtual events only while we plan for new, in-person events beginning in summer 2026.
Embodied leadership is the practice of turning your attention towards the physical body and sensations while in a position of power or privilege.
We collaborate with diverse business, nonprofit, and community leaders to provide a unique networking and learning experience. We focus on practical steps to grow and sustain our community in a manner that recognizes our deep connection and inter-relatedness to one another and the planet.
In addition to the opportunity to meet new people with similar interests and build lasting relationships, we offer workshops, skillshares, and retreats that empower members with skills and learning for building a more embodied, grounded sense of leadership.
Our Statement of Intent
• We are committed to defining leadership in a way that is connected to our passion and purpose.
• We believe in mutual and collaborative sharing of knowledge and experiences in support of one another.
• We are committed to having an open, kind, and respectful attitude in all our interactions.
• We are committed to aligning our personal passion with our professional vision and goals.
• We are committed to a genuine caring for each other as fellow human beings and for our planet Earth.
• As embodied leaders, we are committed to creating a happier, healthier community and world through trauma-informed decision making.

Live Discussion / Q&A on Zoom
Join Saraswati Hancock, trauma-informed yoga teacher, immigrant & refugee activist, and founder of Yoga Mandala Project for an inspiring discussion on yoga activism through the lens of classical yoga.
Based in Ireland, Saraswati Hancock has dedicated over 50 years to the path of yoga. Her journey includes thousands of hours of teacher training across multiple modalities: birth doula work, yoga therapy for women's health, and yoga nidra. Since 2016, she has engaged in ongoing studies of classical tantra and ayurvedic yoga therapy with her spiritual mentor, Chinnamasta Stiles. Saraswati's work in refugee communities in the Middle East profoundly shaped her understanding of dignity, compassion, and grace. This inspired her to establish the Yoga Mandala Project, which supports refugee populations through trauma-informed yoga.
