HBCU Dance Team Clinic & College Fair
The South Carolina Dance Association HBCU Dance Team Prep Committee invites middle and high school dancers to participate in a high-energy dance clinic and college fair designed for students interested in HBCU dance teams.
This event gives dancers the opportunity to train directly with HBCU dance coaches and team leaders, learn the signature styles seen on HBCU fields and in the stands, and gain valuable insight into auditions, recruitment, and scholarship opportunities.
Participants will take part in multiple masterclass sessions led by instructors from:
• Allen University
• Benedict College
• South Carolina State University
• Voorhees University
Students will experience the energy, technique, and performance style associated with HBCU dance programs, including majorette movement, struts, stands, and performance combinations.
Who Should Attend
This event is open to:
Grades 6 – 12
All dance levels welcome
Perfect for dancers who are:
• Interested in performing on an HBCU dance team
• Currently on a school or studio dance team
• Preparing for college auditions
• Curious about dance opportunities at HBCUs

Registration Fees
SCDA Members: $35
Non-Members: $45
Observers/Parents: $20
Online registration closes Thursday, March 19.
On-site registration will be available with a $10 late fee.
About the Event
This event is hosted by the South Carolina Dance Association and organized by the HBCU Dance Team Prep Committee, chaired by Veneshia Stribling.
Our goal is to create a pathway for young dancers in South Carolina to explore opportunities within Historically Black Colleges and Universities dance programs.
