Rethinking Knowledge in the Age of AI

How is AI changing the way we search, organise knowledge, learn and stay curious?

This meetup is a special collaboration between Embrace, Ladies That UX and Quidgest, who will kindly welcome us into their space for the evening.

Together, we’ll explore different ways AI is reshaping our relationship with knowledge, from semantic search to the importance of curiosity in a fast-changing world. We’ll be joined by three speakers with different perspectives on how AI can help us search better, think better and keep learning.

Talk 1 - Beyond Words: Semantic Search with AI on Genio Speaker: Francisco Azeredo, AI Engineer at Quidgest In this session, the speaker will demonstrate how Quidgest is transforming search on the Genio platform: moving beyond exact keyword matching and advancing toward true semantic understanding. Using word embedding models and nearest neighbor search, the system can now find what the user means, even if they don’t use the exact words. A seemingly small technical change, but one with a direct impact on the experience of hundreds of thousands of users, because it is built to mirror the way humans think.

Talk 3 - Why the Future Belongs to the Curious, Not the Experts Speaker: Rita Sofio, Founder of Tech In Heels In this talk,

Rita will explore how impostor syndrome is common among high performers and has become even more pronounced in the age of AI. She will explain how self-doubt is not a flaw, but often a natural result of growth, increasing responsibility and constant comparison. Through the A.C.T. Framework (Ask, Create, Test) Rita will show how curiosity, experimentation and action can help turn hesitation into confidence and make learning feel more accessible in a rapidly changing world.
