Teglstrup Hegn - Amidst forests, lakes, and history

Our trail in Teglstrup Hegn takes us through a varied and atmospheric landscape where forest, hills, small lakes, and stretches of coastline blend naturally into one another. The terrain bears clear traces of the Ice Age, featuring gentle rises and deep hollows giving the walk a dynamic character.

We will walk through a dense deciduous forest, across open pastures where cattle roam freely, and past small forest lakes and ponds. Along the way, we also pass the old Hammermølle—a site of cultural-historical significance, where we take a break, enjoy a drink and maybe a sweet bite.

Hammermøllen is one of the few remaining operational hammer mills in Denmark. As a key component of the country's weapon production, it has played a central role in much of country's history. The Hellebæk millpond system has been designated a national industrial heritage site.
