Virtual Reality in Architecture: Inaugural Meetup

Welcome to the inaugural meetup of VR in Architecture! I will be presenting some AR/VR projects my firm has created as well as some personal projects I've got going on and we will have an HTC Vive set up for people to try out.

We hope to make this a monthly meetup where we can network and learn from each other. What cool virtual reality projects are happening in Chicago in the AEC industry and how can we incorporate best practices into our own work? Let's find out together! Each meetup will consist of short presentations from people doing interesting things in VR. If you are working on something you would like to share, or know of someone working in VR that would be interested in presenting, please get in touch. Also, if your firm would like to host or sponsor a future meetup, that would be great!

Douglas Snider, AIA.

Doug is an architect, anthropologist, and inventor who has been creating virtual and physical spaces and objects for over 15 years. Upon completing an architectural thesis on design within a virtual environment in 2003, he started his career working in an archaeology lab creating virtual reconstructions of archaeological and cultural heritage sites. He has been practicing architecture since 2005 and recently led the visualization studio at Studio Talo Architecture. He will present a number of professional and personal virtual reality projects.
