Note: This meet-up is limited to 50 attendees. RSVP is required, and you have to sign-in at the event! - We are very strict on no-shows. If you pull multiple no-shows, expect to be excluded from future events and removed from the group. - Be on time!
SCHEDULE
Between 6:00 and 6:30 pm - DOORS OPEN
The organizers usually arrive 15 to 30 minutes before the meet-up to set things up. If you like, you can hang out and talk to the other early birds. Networking is encouraged.
6:30 pm - OFFICIAL START
Introduction round and announcements.
This is an essential part of the meet-up.
Please make sure to arrive on time!
7:00 pm - CLASS AND NETWORKING
Classroom: Free Class "Compression" with Holger
Experienced electronic music producer and live performing artist Holger aka Engineeer will talk about dynamic compression and other forms of controlling volume. Learn about volume shaping, clipping, parallel and (multi-) band compression, loudness in mastering as well as use of limiters.
Lobby: Networking
In parallel to the class, music producers can hang out and network in the lobby. Please keep the doors to the classroom closed!
8:30 pm - LISTENING SESSION (in the classroom)
We will listen to each other's music productions and exchange constructive criticism.
9:30 pm - OFFICIAL END
Leave the room.
Make sure to take out your trash.
Do NOT interrupt organizers or speakers while they pack-up.
10:00 pm - ROOM WILL BE LOCKED
Everybody has to be out of the room! - No exceptions!
We are required by the venue to lock the room at 10 pm sharp.
COST
Attendance is free!
FOOD AND BEVERAGES
You can bring your own light snacks and non-alcoholic beverages. If you warm-up food, please avoid strong smelling food (like fish). Make sure that all surfaces are clean and trash is removed 30 minutes before the end of the event.
Food can only be consumed in the kitchen area!
Again: Alcohol is not allowed on the premises!
Reminder: We will leave the room in clean and orderly condition!
We will meet at the Irvine Ranch Water District Duck Club, 15 Riparian View in Irvine.
Do NOT call the organizers on the day of the event for directions. Thank you!

WHAT TO BRING
Most importantly, bring a friendly and positive attitude! We encourage you to ask meaningful questions, heckling of any sort won't be tolerated. Feel free to bring your fully charged laptop with your DAW and a pair of headphones. You don't need to bring power supplies or chargers, because ATTENDEES ARE NOT ALLOWED TO USE THE POWER OUTLETS of the venue.
