What we're about

Love great music, great food and drink, and great company? Interested in learning more about Early Music, but want to experience it in a fun, informal atmosphere, surrounded by great food and drink and great company? Join us.

"Early Music" is the term loosely applied to music written before 1800. We don't particularly like that term, but we use it because we hope people will know what we're talking about.

When the stuff was actually being written, it was just called MUSIC, which is how we like to think about it. It's the soundtrack of our lives. Well, it was, back then, anyway. It was house music, dance music, fall-in-love-music. It was "our song" and the Top 40, and it had rock stars and hair bands and boy bands (and girl bands, although they were mostly nuns) and one-hit wonders.

Early Music Underground is out to recapture that spirit, to take Early Music out of the museum and put it where we think it belongs, and that's where you are. In a brewpub for a night out, at wineries for a wine tasting, in your house for a concert with friends, and in great sacred spaces. Away from the stuffy attitude of too many musicians AND concertgoers these days. We're taking it UNDERGROUND.

What about the music? Why Baroque? It has the fire of bluegrass, the soul of R&B, and the intellectual depth of Classical art music. It's approachable and understandable, and we'll help! We love to make this music happen and share our passion for it with you, our listeners and friends.
