'Making Music & Art with Machine Intelligence'

Francisco Bernardo is a post-doctoral research fellow, an interactive media artist and a multi-instrumentalist. He is currently working at Sussex University on the AHRC-funded project MIMIC: Musically Intelligent Machines Interacting Creatively.
His research is focused on human–computer interaction approaches to toolkits that broaden and accelerate user innovation with interactive machine learning. He has been working in applied research in projects at the intersection of art and innovation, front-end software engineering, interaction design and greenfield product management.
Francisco is a contributor to open-source software, such as the Maximilian DSP library, the RAPID-MIX machine learning API, and most recently Sema, a live code language design playground that he co-created.

'Tensorflow.js at the Cinema'

Sean Greaves is a Client Technical Specialist (AI) at IBM.
Tensorflow.js is a popular library for running machine learning projects within the browser. The library is used extensively by the creative coding community who have developed many artistic and playful demonstrations of what is possible. This talk will walk through a prototype Sean recently built that allows users to explore his favourite films of the past decade via facial expression recognition.

Live interactive installation from Yi-Wen Lin

Yi-Wen Lin is a freelance creative coder who will be showcasing his demo 'Flow of Thoughts' at the event before and between the talks. The project was built using the face detection library face-api.js.
