Join us for the next in the #AdrenalinSessions series as we host breakfast with Artificial Intelligence experts from Gumtree, UNSW and UpWire. The event will look at what AI means for brands. The speakers will discuss how AI will impact the creative approach brands take and the effect on the broader digital industry.
We know it’s an early start but we promise it will be fast, fun and informative. We’ll provide pastries and coffee and we’ll be finished up before your working day even begins.

Magda Cortez, Senior Product Manager at eBay Classifieds Group, Currently working on Gumtree
Magda Cortez is a curious and creative product manager who has spent the last 12 years crafting cross-platform digital experiences. She is the Senior Product Manager at eBay Classifieds Group currently working on Gumtree. Magda is responsible for shaping experiences that connect buyers, sellers and brands within Gumtree using data, messaging and AI technology.
Magda was a presenter at Sydney's Vivid Festival discussing essentials questions product managers should ask to developing successful products. She is also a mentor to emerging start-ups and Women in Tech. Previously, Magda worked at News Corp and Ninemsn where she applied design thinking and lean/agile principals to product development.
Magda will be talking about: 'AI MVP - creating a minimum viable personality with artificial intelligence'
Magda Cortez will discuss product and branding principals to help you build an MVP using AI products. There will be a healthy dose of skepticism, practical advice and proven approaches to turn concepts into products.
UNSW
Maurice Pagnucco, Professor, Deputy Dean (Education), UNSW Engineering and Head of School, School of Computer Science and Engineering
Maurice's research is focussed on Artificial Intelligence with particular emphasis on knowledge Representation and Reasoning, Cognitive Robotics, Belief Change and Reasoning About Actions. Maurice was the programme director of the Decision Making theme in the ARC Centre of Excellence for Autonomous Systems and a co-director of the UNSW iCinema Centre for Interactive Cinema Research. His collaboration with the UNSW iCinema Centre for Interactive Cinema Research and other researchers in the School of Computer Science and Engineering resulted in a world-first interactive cinema piece that premiered at the Sydney Film Festival in 2011 that includes an artificial intelligence planning system to control virtual characters as they interact with audience members. A collaboration with researchers at the Creative Robotics Laboratory at UNSW has led to an exhibition that toured the country.
Maurice joined UNSW in 2001 as a Senior Lecturer and has held the position of Head of School since 2010 and Deputy Dean (Education) since 2015. He has also worked as a Postdoctoral fellow at the University of Toronto and a Lecturer at Macquarie University along with research appointments at both the University of Sydney and UNSW early in his career. Maurice obtained his Bachelor of Science (Hons I) and PhD degrees in Computer Science from the University of Sydney.During his undergraduate studies he also spent a year at the Department of Computer Science of the University of Milan, Italy.

Henry Cho, Head of UX and AI, Upwire
A veteran user experience professional with over 17 years' experience including 10 years in mobile UX. Since graduating from Startmate (Australia's Y-Combinator), he has been a driving force behind building lean UX practices in Australia at an enterprise level as well as coaching start-ups around Australia through programs like Slingshot and Sydney Genesis.
Henry has a passion for education and has taught hundreds of students directly, running the first UX course in Australia for General Assembly, created online programs for Design Lab in the US and mentors individuals and start-ups both locally and internationally.
Having a deep need to evolve constantly, Henry now has a focus on the next horizon of human computer interaction through conversational interfaces, anticatory design, artificial intelligence and social robotics.
