Introduction to Meditation

What we'll do

Beginners

A four-week Introduction to Meditation course commences on the first Saturday of each month. These are offered by members of the lay community and outline the techniques, benefits and difficulties of meditation practice. No previous experience is necessary and there is no charge or fee for the classes - so they're priceless! You are advised to wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing.

Experienced

3pm to 4.15pm: Instruction and guided meditation by a senior monk or nun.

Guided meditations and talks covering:
- What meditation is, why we meditate
- The problems that may arise during meditation
- Walking meditation
- How we use the practice of mindfulness and loving kindness (Metta) meditation

It is advisable to do this course before attending a weekend retreat.
