What we'll do

Sindhu will be Hosting with Sajhu-Paul leading a MINDFULNESS meditation.

Mindfulness is an ancient, present-moment, focusing and awareness technique which can greatly assist us in our everyday mental, physical and spiritual lives.

The benefits of regular Mindfulness Meditation practice in everyday life are many including: resiliency to stress, improved relationships, sharper attention, more flexible mental ability, improved coping skills, better persistence, more compassion and better life choices.

Suitable for any level of experience, over the course of several weeks you will be guided through a simple, step by step process of mindfulness meditation. At each meeting the prior steps are reviewed and a new step or practice is introduced or reviewed then practised together. This usually takes the form of several short, mostly silent meditations with occasional guidance.

Meditators of all levels of experience often have trouble finding an appropriate technique for themselves and then persisting with the consistent practice of the one they choose. Sajhu's aim is to provide a regular free, safe, helpful space to practice simple processes that will assist you to embed a regular, effective meditation practice in your daily life.

Although informed by many teachers from many traditions, the practices taught do not require you to engage in any religious or cultish group practices or commitments including financial.

DATES & TIMES:
The meeting starts at 7:00pm but please arrive up to 5-15 minutes earlier so that we are all settled and ready for the meeting to start on time. The meditation takes about 1 hour. After the meditation the group stays for a chat over tea and snacks finishing by about 8:30pm.

WHAT TO BRING:
There is a range of lounges, chairs and meditation stools available. Please bring your own cushion if you prefer to sit on the floor.
Attendees usually bring snack or their favourite tea to share afterwards.

COMMUNICATION:
For better communication and in case of any late event change, it is recommended to check your SMS and EMAIL before attending. Please also provide your contact number if you have not yet done so (your organiser will provide his/her contact number in reply).

CONSIDERATION:
The organisers understand that life happens and last minute events can make you late or not attend. Please consider others by advising ASAP if that happens.

OTHER DETAILS:
There is no charge for this event. The total cost to the group for the night's event is approximately $10. This consists of about $5 to the host to compensate for their out-of-pocket costs and about $5 towards fees paid by the group for the right to use the Free Form Meditation website.

A donation box is available should you wish to contribute a gold coin to assist with those costs according to your own circumstances. Donations are not compulsory. Any surplus over our costs donated will be deposited in the group's kitty to be used for future free events or where donations do not cover costs. This kitty is transparently accounted for by our honorary treasurer and checked by other organiser members.
