What we'll do
Have you ever thought about submitting a talk to a Meetup/conference but did not know where to start?
Have you thought of a topic you would like to share and then thought nobody would want to listen to it?
Have you ever thought "I'm not an expert, what have I got to share?"?
We want to hear from YOU!
There are many types of technical talks that an audience is just waiting to hear about: something aimed at beginner's (101 style), focusing on your perspective/experience, tech tales, learnings... We are here to help you form it into a talk submission!
The night will have a theory and a practical element. Also, we have two excellent speakers for the event:
Michelle Tan (@mishmashtan) will share her experience as a first-time speaker.
Milly Schmidt (@meelijane) will take us through techniques and practices and run through a workshop section where we put those into practice and hopefully come up with some great foundations for a talk.
We'll have people floating about to help with ideas and developing them into talk topics!
DDD is focused on encouraging first time speakers and would love if some of your talks grew into submissions for the conference or some of their lightning talk nights 'DDD by night' but no pressure and most definitely is not an obligation if attending this workshop :)
The event is co-hosted with DDD Melbourne, a developer conference on the 15th of September. We thank our sponsors PageUp for the venue.
Male members are always welcome to our events.
