A Walk Between the Clouds - Moving from AWS to Azure by Bron Thulke @bron

Let's have a casual chat around a computer screen (BYO fire) about the journey Bron took recently for her travel tech startup, to move their platform across from Amazon AWS to Azure. In particular, this included moving the DevOps and CI/CD pipelines to Azure DevOps with Octopus (because: Octopus Love). Bron will reflect on what she's liked in Azure, what she misses from AWS, and what challenges she has had to overcome.

--

Bron has been developing code since the turn of the century, and feels about as aged now as that makes her sound. That fact doesn't stop her from diving head first into all the new tech that emerges at every opportunity she gets. Her motto is "if you're not learning, you're not moving"... yes she just made that up. In 2017 Bron cofounded YouLive to Travel, a travel management platform where she is currently the CTO. She is an active part of the dev and .NET communities.

Is your application slow? Do you know where the bottlenecks are? How do you take the guesswork out and start making measurable differences? Benchmark.net and Visual Studio's profiler are great for working out what's slow. This talk will give a quick overview of both and a few live demos!
