September 2019 - Law 101 for Game Creatives

What we'll do

How savvy are you about the laws affecting game development? Do you know how to protect your rights in what you create? Do you know the difference between a trade mark, a patent and a registered design?

Briar Francis is a lawyer in the Intellectual Property and Technology team at HopgoodGanim Lawyers in Brisbane. She assists a number of independents with running their game businesses and protecting their brand and ideas.

During this presentation, Briar will run you through the key legal concepts crucial to people in the games industry, including IP ownership and licensing, privacy and data protection laws, advertising and social media. There will also be plenty of time for questions.
