🎙 Daniel Moka - Improving software quality with mutation testing in .NET 🎙

📝 Abstract:

Code coverage is a misleading metric. Although it can help us to spot unexecuted (not covered) areas in the code, it tells nothing about the covered areas and whether our tests are able to detect faults in that code. One can have 100% code coverage with completely useless tests. But mutation testing to the rescue! Mutation testing is an excellent practice to evaluate the quality of our tests in a pragmatic way. In the .NET ecosystem, Stryker Mutator is the de-facto tool to execute mutation tests and to generate visual reports which we can use to efficiently improve the quality of our tests, resulting in quality software.
