🎤 Toby Hede
# Designing for DynamoDB #
DynamoDB is simultaneously the simplest and most complicated database money can buy.
A simple key/value table with incredible reliability and essentially boundless capacity can be setup in seconds, but modelling complex access patterns requires careful and considered upfront design planning and consideration.
If you have experience with relational systems, DynamoDB requires us to adopt new ways of thinking about how we design and structure our data.
This is the story of some of the things I have learned by doing DynamoDB wrong.
Toby is an Engineering Manager at amaysim.
He specialises in cloud-native serverless architectures and is the creator of serverlesspatterns.io - the definitive guide to serverless architecture in practice (on AWS)

🎤 Michael Compton, Senior Software Engineering Manager, Rokt
Serverless Distributed Data Processing
Leveraging Serverless Compute and Data storage solutions to implement distributed and decouple data stream processing functionality for near real time reporting and business functions.
Michael has been at Rokt for over 4 years and have been leading the Data Architecture team for the last 2 years on a journey of implementing a data streaming architecture on top AWS managed services. His passion is building and leading high functioning teams that implement advanced data processing and access services, with an emphasis on autonomy and ownership.

🎤 Todd Anglin, Principal Cloud Advocate, Microsoft
“Deploying Serverless Functions with Github Actions”
Friends don’t let friends “right click, deploy.” But configuring a proper CI/CD workflow can be time consuming, and it adds cost to a project. Enter Github Actions. With just a few clicks and a few lines of code, you can create a fully automated workflow for building and deploying serverless functions to the cloud. In this session, we’ll introduce Github Actions and see how easy it is to use it to automate Azure Function deployments.
Todd Anglin is a Principal Cloud Advocate Lead at Microsoft where he is focused on helping developers succeed with Azure and ensuring Azure offers the best cloud platform developer experience. Prior to Microsoft, Todd was VP of Product at Progress, leading engineering teams focused on building modern platforms for app development, including the popular open source mobile platform, NativeScript. Before being acquired by Progress, Todd spent nearly at decade at Telerik, where he helped build the original Telerik Developer Relations team and lead new products to market, including Kendo UI. Todd is an author and frequent speaker on web and mobile app development. Follow Todd @toddanglin for his latest writings and industry insights.
