Jung's Psychology of the Unconscious

- Matthew 7:25
Ways to Self is a series of talks in which we explore the ancient stories, symbols and ideas which form the essential foundation of human personality. To know where we are going we must know from whence we have come. To create a beautiful future we must understand who we are.
'Jung's Psychology of the Unconscious: A Path to Wholeness' is an event which focuses upon laying out the themes central to the thought of perhaps the most important psychologist of the 20th century: Carl Jung.
Due to the essential value Jung placed upon the imagination (as the source of guidance, healing and creative intuition) a good way of understanding his ideas is through the exploration of image. After all the root of our word 'imagination' is the Latin "imago" which means "image".
We will lay out Jung's vision of individual development through a discussion of the images that correspond to each phase. These images are the figure of the Shadow, the Anima/Animus and the Self. In addition to exploring the meaning of these figures we will discuss their practical relevance to our daily lives.
The seminar format will be a visual presentation of images and an associated discussion of their meaning.
