Silent Book Club - Kings Park (Return of the Picnic)
Kings Park and Botanic Garden, Fraser Ave, Perth, WA, AUHave you been looking for a book club that doesn't require you to read a specific book or participate in a formal discussion?
Look no further than The Silent Book Club, a global movement that has taken root in our community. Join us for an afternoon of quiet reading in the company of friends and peers. Here's what to expect:
On the last Sunday of every month, we'll gather to read. This August, we will have a picnic in Kings Park on the grass in front of the War Memorial. (Please bring a picnic blanket/cushion to sit on and some snacks to share if you would like to/are able to). IF WEATHER IS BAD we relocate to Dome Belmont at the same time (keep an eye on the event!!).
At 2 pm, join us to chat with other readers about what you're currently reading and books in general. If you arrive before 2pm, feel free to grab a coffee from the nearby cafΓ© and come mingle with other readers at the picnic.
From 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm, we'll observe an hour of silence as we read our books together. To signal the end of the reading session, a 50-minute timer will be set.
At 3:30 pm, you're welcome to leave or stay and socialise with fellow book lovers.
This event is set to occur monthly, and we look forward to seeing you there!
