A two day trip in Dyuritte showing you the necessary skills required to rescue yourself and seconders (and gear!) when things don't go "according to plan."
Spaces will be limited (depending on instructors available) so get in quick. This trip is aimed at climbers who are already competent and confident in their trad leading skills.
Skills covered will include:
- Prussiking up and down a rope, and passing knots safely
- Abseiling through a knot
- Assisted hoist and z-drags of seconders
- Escaping the belay
- Abseiling seconders off a climb whilst using a safety line
- Anchor Selection/Refinement when climbing
- General Considerations when climbing with beginners
Day 1 will be a skills based day and day 2 we will put the skills into practice on actual climbs. Many of these skills will be crucial in being a safe and competent climber, and some may be part of the lead check off process.
Gear Requirements: - Standard Personal Climbing Gear (Harness, Helmet, Shoes)
- Lead Rack (one between 2)
- One dynamic rope per climber
- One static rope between 2 (Preferably one of the new ones)
- Standard camping gear
All CLIMBING gear hire is included in the trip cost. Please inform the gear officer of this if collecting any gear, though a deposit will have to be paid.
Before the course, I'd recommend you to have a quick look at our
