Hi codebar folks, we are lucky to have Propeller Aero host us again! 😊 Note that we will also be starting half an hour earlier than usual, at 6:00pm. Try to be on time so that you can access the venue, but leave a message in this group if you are running late and unable to do so.

Also, please don’t RSVP yes unless you’re sure you can attend! And please change your RSVP if you are no longer able to make it.

About codebar:

codebar is aimed at enabling underrepresented people to learn coding and programming in a safe and collaborative environment and expand their career opportunities. To achieve this, we run free regular workshops, regular one-off events and try to create opportunities for our students making technology and coding more accessible. We currently run codebar on the first Tuesday of every month and try to kick off at 6:30pm. Our events are relaxed and chilled out and we aim to make every space a welcoming and comfortable one.

You can attend our workshops as a student or a mentor. There is no need to specify this when you RSVP, but please read our Code of Conduct (https://codebar.io/code-of-conduct) and familiarise yourself with our tutorials.

You will typically work one-on-one in our workshops as we pair students with mentors, but if you prefer to work independently but have someone on hand to answer questions, just let us know! We walk around and make sure everyone’s OK.

Our main website and RSVPs is here: https://codebar.io/ If you RSVP here, you don’t need to RSVP there (and vice versa).

• What to bring
Laptop (and charger if needed). Internet access will be provided.
Most attendees will do tutorials on codebar.io (you can visit the website for more details). You are more than welcome to bring your side projects to work on.

• Important to know
This event is aimed at helping under-represented people in the tech industry learn coding. If you feel that your demographic is under-represented in tech, then please join us.

• Food and drinks
We try to provide light snacks/finger food and non-alcoholic drinks at all our events, and do our best supply vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. If you have a large appetite, bring a snack or grab a bite to eat beforehand! Alcoholic drinks may be available.

We are always looking for mentors to help out as well - get in touch if you are not sure.
