Meditation ZOOM on next Monday
Join in from 7:15pm, meditation starts at 7:30pm.
Sajhu-Paul will be hosting and leading an online meditation.
Each Monday there is the opportunity for you to develop your meditation practice by sharing with regular meditators across Australia.
The sessions usually begin with an inspirational short talk from a recognised teacher on topics such as Emptiness, Serendipity, Power Perception, Joy and Connection. The topic this time will be "MEETING SILENCE".
This meditation starts with a relaxing guided body scan before a mostly SILENT meditation. The techniques practiced will be Relaxation, Introspection, Allowing and Experiencing. Tonight will again be an opportunity to use the Japanese Zen style of meditation called Shikantaza (Just Sitting).
In all our weekly meditation sessions, we provide a place to be inspired by and to learn about and practice with others, the incorporation of mindfulness, peace and stillness into meditation and our daily lives. It is suitable for all levels.
This Zoomed only meditation is usually on every Monday at the same time. This week there will also be a Canberra in-person meditation on THURSDAY. See the Meetup calendar and postings for all events and dates.
New and existing Zoomers including experienced and inexperienced meditators, and new members and their guests, are welcome at all our events.
TIMES:
You are most welcome to zoom in anytime from from 7:15 pm so we can have a chat as well as sort out any technical issues. We start the meditation at 7:30 pm. The meditation session takes about 1 hour: we finish before 9:00 pm.

WHAT WILL HELP YOUR MEDITATION.
Arrange a space where distractions are minimised. Wear suitable seasonal clothing and footwear. You may want to use a blanket as our bodies usually cool down during longer meditations like these. You can use a chair or meditation stool and/or cushions. All meditations benefit from having a straight back in a relaxed but not supine posture.

OUR GROUP:
Our group provides regular, free, safe, helpful spaces to practice meditation and socialise. We are a very normal collection of people informed by many interests, disciplines and teachers from many traditions but any techniques taught do not require us to engage in any religious or cult practices or commitments including financial.
When not affected by unforeseen circumstances such as the Covid situation, we have a diverse range regular weekly activities. This usually includes a weekly Zoomed only and an in-person non-zoomed meditation event usually on a Wednesday. There is also a monthly spiritual book club and less frequently there are special weekend events including Movie Nights, Social gatherings, Conversations Game Dinners and retreats.
