About the talk
Michal's talk will introduce you into technology stack PHP and graph databases where you will learn more about it and why you should start thinking about using it. He will tell you more about growing community and currently available tools and libraries. In the talk he will also describe and showcase a few projects with mentioned technology stack. One of the projects will be project for glass workshop company with manual production for automatic production planning.

About the speakers
Michal Štefaňák is the author of PHP Bolt driver and winner of the 2021 Graphie Award for MVP Ecosystem. He is originally from Slovakia. Michal learned his first programming language at age 12. For over 20 years, he has worked with various programming languages and technologies as well as IT areas spanning software development, web development, game development, and XR. He also has experience in areas such as manufacturing machines, robots, CNC machines, and automatization.

Talk #2: Geopolitics and economics of the COVID-19 vaccine distribution in the EU - a network analysis approach

About the talk
In light of the recent COVID-19 outbreak, vaccine distribution became an important geopolitical driver, which is downsizing the healthcare crisis and facilitating economic recovery for countries around the globe. Nevertheless, it also serves as a lucrative profit opportunity for the pharma industry. Vaccines (or the lack of them) can also be considered as a utility in proxy warfare, where one actor can indirectly affect another in a positive or negative way - economically, politically, socially, etc.
The latest advancements in network theory consider the usage of multiple layers of connectivity due to the fact that entities often interact with each other in several ways. This presentation will reveal some interesting facts regarding vaccine distribution and trade network analysis which is also a part of the ongoing Ph.D. research.

About the speaker
Srečko Zajec holds two master's degrees and has also completed a postgraduate specialization study. He is currently enrolled in a Ph.D. program at the Faculty of Information Studies in Novo Mesto, Slovenia, where he is doing research related to network theory.
He is also an author of numerous media as well as scientific articles and possesses interdisciplinary knowledge in the domain of business and information technologies with an emphasized interest in the various forms of data analytics. Furthermore, he holds a special interest in network analysis and graph databases. Among others, he has experience with social, organizational, trade, and communication (voice, text, data) networks.

Throughout his career, he worked in several private and government-owned companies and participated in many field-related projects. Srečko led the team which deployed the SaaS platform for data analysis and visualization as a part of the establishment of the Croatian government cloud.
