ABOUT THE EVENT
Wait, IN BRUGES where? It's in Belgium. What's IN BRUGES? A hilarious crime/dark comedy based (you got it!) in Bruges starring Colin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson, and Ralph Fiennes (18+).We will read beforehand (on our owns) the screenplay of IN BRUGES (2008) by oscar-winning director Martin McDonagh (of "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri"), which everyone will receive as Pdf a few weeks ahead.
On the D-Day we will watch the movie (running time about 110 min) at the café Ngoepi in Cilandak at 6 PM. After the movie, we will sit down and discuss for about 30-60 minutes.
Here's the trailer of In Bruges: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p-gG2qo_l_A The script ain't long (about 100 pages) and makes for a fun read!
After the movie we can talk about anything we wish to. A few examples: what's did you learn while writing the script? What's different from the script vs the movie? How did the writer set the tone and genre? How did the director set (blocked and staged) the scenes? Raise anyhting you wish to discuss! Ask questions to fellow cinema buffs, and show off what you learned and know about scriptwriting and filmmaking.
That's a DREAM EVENT for cinemagoers, creatives, readers, (script) writers, storytellers, creatives. Just join and enojy this VERY SPECIAL event. Come without reading the script, if you must, but it will be only half as fun.

Everyone is always welcome to join our events. Our community is all about creating authentic in-person connections in this urban jungle.

ABOUT THE EVENT
So, how quickly can you come up with creative ideas in writing? Let’s give this brain gymnastics a shot!We will meet for a circa 2-hour session at Magia Coffee for our creative writing challenges. The writing challenge is as follows:
- Prepare your writing kit (pen and paper, notebook, laptop, phone … take your pick)
- The theme for the writing challenge will be different in each session. (For example: “FOOLS". You can refer to anything you like, from April’s Fools' Day to simply feeling silly for doing something.)
- You have ONLY 30 minutes to write anything based on that theme, whether it’s a poem, a flash fiction, a short story, or just a rant.
- After 30 minutes, gather and start sharing what you have just written. (This is, of course, OPTIONAL for those willing to do it.)
Just show up and dive into the challenge. Everyone will be working on their own thing, and we won't talk during writing. You’ll surprise yourself with what you can do in such a short time.
After the sharing session, you’re welcome to resume your writing mode or simply hang out and chat about writing or anything related. We can also share each other's texts and give feedback, if that's something someone would like to do.
