ABOUT THE EVENT
We will meet and watch the movie at the café Ngopei with a screening in the outside covered patio. Ngoepi is not a theatre-style cinema... but where else in Jakarta can you watch Apocalypse Now?

Apocalyspe Now is an absolute classic. It's an epic war-slash-psychologic drama set during the Vietnam War. The cast is stellar with Marlon Brando playing the lunatic dude, a young Harrisno Ford, and many more.

The movie is directed by Francis Ford Coppola ("Dracula", "The Godfather", "Megalopolis") and it's about 2,5 h long.

Here the tagline from the Internet Movie Database (IMDB): "A U.S. Army officer serving in Vietnam is tasked with assassinating a renegade Special Forces Colonel who sees himself as a god."

This event is related to (but independent from) the Book Club: "A Heart of Dakness" by Joseph Conrad on 22 June 2025, the book which inspired the movie.

Ngoepi is a lovely cafe with a cozy book corner and great coffee and snacks. There's an indoor area with airco (non smoking), and a garden/patio outside.

HOW TO REGISTER TO THE EVENT?
To register, just click “Attend”! There are a few simple rules

• We kindly ask attendees who cannot manage to join to update RSVP at least 24 h before the event as a courtesy to other attendees and event organisers.
• Don’t be late! We can't wait for you and you'll miss the start of the movie. Plus, you'll disrupt everyone's watching experience.
• People in the waitlist cannot attend, and are encouraged to check a few hours before the event if they got a spot
• Repeated no-show (3X) without updating RSVP will be removed from the group.

WE HAVE A MEMBERSHIP FEE. HOW DOES IT WORK?
Since September 2024, our community has a membership fee of 300k IDR valid for 365 days after payment. Membership fee is offered with a promo discount to new members and first-timers, who can become members for 220k IDR/year. First-timers can decide to attend one event for free and see if they like becoming part of this community.

Membership to both Jakarta Friends and Jakarta Creatives is offered for only 390k IDR/year. Membership gives access to all events plus exclusive perks available only to paying members, like for example our Give Away Birthday Celebrations with lucky draw (Sept 2024) or FREE pasta cooking (and eating 😉) workshop (Nov 2024) or Museum visits with FREE GUIDED TOURS (Sept 2024). To many events, attendees can bring a +1 for free.

To all members we guarantee to keep organizing plenty of events. You will receive a full refund if the group closes down, or if there’s no event happening in three months.
