See all- Foraging Hike for Wild Bayberries 杨梅 Yangmei ハイキングIsogo JR Station , Yokohama-shi, Kanagawa-ken
A quick forage hike to pick Wild Bay Berries (Yamamomo ヤマモモ) which are in season (but the recent rainy weather has knocked them around-we need to pick them soon!) We will meet at Isogo station (JR Line) and I'll show your other foraged plants and trees along the way up to Kuraki Park, Kamiooka. Wear comfortable clothes, good shoes and bring along some plastic bags or tupperware to bring the berries home. Wear gloves, and a hat, bring wet tissue wipes, bug spray, and drinks for yourself. Bay berries are a high source of Vitamin C and make great tangy summer fruit syrups and jellies. Limited space. The hike is free but a 500yen donation would be appreciated.
