Meditation and Patience: A Newton class series

Details

Meditation, Patience & Buddhist Psychology

Tuesdays, October 14, 21 and 28
7:00-8:00pm

This course will explain how to practice different types of breathing meditation, and enable students to learn how to meditate on their own for 20 minutes. It will also introduce basic elements of Buddhist psychology, in particular the practice of patience.

Meditation is a simple and powerful method to relax the mind, deal more effectively with stress, and develop insight into our habitual ways of thinking.

This class will explore in particular the deeper meaning of being patient, as opposed to simply controlling our outward expression of frustration.

Gen Khedrub, a western Buddhist monk for over 30 years, will explain how anyone can begin a practice of meditation on their own and learn to improve their practice of patience.

Location: This class will be held at Newton South High School, 140 Brandeis Rd, Newton, MA 02459.

Course Tuition: $89
