Start the New Year with a difference. The I-GROW course will empower you to become the best version of yourself. It will run over four consecutive sessions via Zoom and is interactive, evidence-based and uses video clips, slide presentations, activities, handouts and discussion in pairs and small groups. We will ensure that you
*get to know yourself and your strengths better
*discover what is most important to you and what gives your life meaning and purpose, in order to set a direction for your life
*learn well researched tools to overcome stress or lack of confidence You will need a reliable internet connection and a quiet space, a pen, some paper, an open mind and willingness to explore, connect and enjoy! Each participant will receive an introductory video and an overview of the I-GROW framework, when you sign up for the course. We will ask you to look at handouts or clips and prepare before each session, then practice skills between sessions. We will enable you to set realistic, values-based goals related to your chosen direction in life and be able to communicate well with people around you to enhance your relationships. You will practice brief mindfulness skills which are known to improve focus, attention, self-regulation and the capacity to appreciate and get the most out of where you are and what you are doing right now.
Session 1: Weds 06/01/21 18:00 - 20:00: Using your Guide and finding who you want to be: Exploring what gives your life meanung and purpose, values, considering whether you are living according to what is most important to you, enhancing motivation and taking small action steps which move you towards what matters most.
Session 2: Weds 13/01/21 18:00 - 20:00: Ready for Action. Enhancing motivation, stepping outside your comfort zone and taking steps in the direction of your values. Setting realistic goals and taking action.
Session 3: Weds 20/01/21 18:00 - 20:00: Open and Observing. Exploring the thoughts and feelings which create barriers to moving forward and using mindfulness skills to become aware, step back from distress and focus on appreciating the present moment rather than future fears or past regrets.
Session 4: Weds 27/01/21 18:00 - 20:00: Wise Mind and Wise Actions. Looking at what keeps us stuck and choices that take us towards or away from what we care about. Choosing what thoughts to listen to or let go of and deciding what action to take. Communicating with Confidence. Putting it all together and embracing the wider world. Using empathic, assertive communication that embodies respect for yourself and for others, to improve relationships with close people, colleagues or anyone you encounter on your journey forward.
Our facilitators are skilled trainers, qualified in NLP, coaching, counselling skills and careers guidance.
The I-GROW model and course was developed by a GP and an accredited CBT Therapist and we are constantly using the skills we teach to grow and develop our organisation. Please sign up, send us your email and make a start on a new beginning!
