An open group for all things Python in Western Australia.
Our meetups happen First-Thursday of every month (except January).
Come join the online community by visiting [PythonWA.com](http://www.pythonwa.com)!
Our topics cover everything from Data Engineering, to the latest developments in web technologies, to using Python for automating your home! All skill levels are welcome and there's always time for catching up and networking before and after the talks.
The Perth WA group is operated under the terms of the Python Software Foundation Code of Conduct.

Welcome to our June Python WA meetup!
We welcome Python enthusiasts of all skill levels. We'll be starting off with food and beverages at 5:30 pm, with talks beginning at 6:00pm.Indexing Exabyte-Scale Data with Intake
by Charles TurnerClimate models generate a lot of data - petabytes per model run - and this makes efficiently accessing and understanding their outputs difficult. Previous solutions include standardised file structures, sqlite databases, and just knowing where to look. All of these work - to varying degrees - but can leave new users scratching their heads. In this talk, Charles will outline how ACCESS-NRI built tooling around Intake and Intake-ESM to make it easy for Australian researchers to find and access the worlds data, share their own, and avoid writing the same custom scripts as everyone else over and over to work with the data their experiments generate - and how these solutions can be applied to other fields
Charles works at ACCESS-NRI, where he works on open source tools to make analysing climate model data less painful. He previously built similar tooling for air quality and observational oceanography.

by Jordan DuabeThe Badger2040 is a hackable, programmable badge with E Ink display, powered by Raspberry Pi RP2040.
This talk explores how we can use MicroPython to interact with microntrollers, leverage the bundled PicoGraphics library that includes functions for displaying text, shapes, and images (or individual pixels if you like), and put it all together into a simple snake game.Jordan is a polyglot developer with years of industry experience building web and mobile applications. Interests include building custom mechanical keyboards, playing video games, and hiking. Also dabbles in GIS (Geographic Information Systems), linguistics, and music theory.
