What we’re about
We love the outdoors and bushwalking, but it's the company that makes this group what it is.
Our ages range from late 20s to late 50s and beyond. This group is not suitable for young kids, however young people over about 12 who can manage the walks are very welcome.
Walkers should have "a reasonable level of walking fitness, and able to walk a minimum of 15km over variable terrain in a total of 4-5 hours (in the cooler months)".
Bushwalking is a winter activity in this part of Australia. The season runs from about April to October each year. We bushwalk regularly during those cooler months, sometimes overnight, or extended trips.
We limit numbers on walks. Please do not put your name on an Attending or Waiting List if you have no intention of coming. No Shows will be removed from the group.
You can find more information about us here:
Redtail Bushwalkers - information
We enjoy a cold beer and good discussion at the end of a day out, almost as much as being out there in nature.
If you're into the natural world, science, flora, fauna, or just simply enjoying the bush, then this may be the group for you.
Looking forward to meeting you!
* We're named after the Red-tailed Black-Cockatoo, specifically the local subspecies Calyptorhynchus banksii naso.

See all- Windsor Rocks (North)Ye Olde Narrogin Inne, Armadale
The scheduled Two Mountains hike is now cancelled due to this part of the Monadnocks Conservation Area being CLOSED due to prescribed burning.
Instead we'll go the other side of the highway to Windsor Rocks (14.5km, 340m of ascent, rated moderate) ...According to WalkGPS:
"This walk is [also] located in the Monadnocks Conservation Park. The route explores the 5km length of the northern monadnock/s in the Windsor Rocks area, visiting about 8 separated granite outcrops in the area. The walk features excellent views from several of the outcrops to Mount Solus (about 6-7km SW), to Mount Cooke (about 4.5km NE) and to the main Windsor Rocks monadnock (which the Windsor Rocks South Walk route traverses) about 2km east of this walk route. In winter to spring some of the outcrops in this area are especially picturesque with broad coverings of mosses and lichens and small rock pools and rivulets of water on the granite. The forest between the outcrops is mainly open jarrah."***
NUMBERS ARE LIMITED TO 20 PEOPLE, YOUR RSVP IS IMPORTANT. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO CHECK THAT YOU HAVE A SPOT, using your chosen app or the website.
