Beauty & the Beast tells the story of the young maiden, Beauty, who learns to love the fearsome and ugly Beast who lives deep in the forest. Having captured her, Beast must place his trust in Beauty and allow her to leave and return of her own free will.

Beauty and the Beast is a story that is often played out in a relationship, but also within. It tells the tale of a man who must place his trust in his soul, as well as the need for a woman to see beyond appearances through to a hidden realm of greater richness.

For a woman, the inner masculine first appears as raw and unrefined. Like the animal that we are, it is a beast. Conversely, a man may go looking for beauty as an outward pursuit of his own undeveloped sensitivity and refinement.

In this session, we will explore various themes including the beautiful and beastly qualities of our character, trust and fearfulness, possessiveness and problems engendered by insecurity.
