Bring your sketch books, bring your pens, bring a friend. It's not a class - it's a drawing hang out. All skill levels welcome. Always lots of regulars, always newies. Be socially awkward, be confident as heck. This is informal, it's just a free drawing session.

Join us every **Wednesday at 5 PM** at the Emporium food court (located behind Grill’d Burger Restaurant in the CBD, not near Melbourne Station) for a dynamic networking event tailored for filmmakers, actors, and film enthusiasts. Afterward, we continue the evening with Happy Hour drinks at a nearby bar and a chance to grab dinner together. Understanding that schedules vary, feel free to join at any time that suits you. Rain or shine, our community has gathered every week for the past year, maintaining a consistent and welcoming environment.

Filmonik #128 Short films meetup. 13th year anniversary.
Filmonik is an Open-Screen screening / Bring-Your-Own-Film night that has been running since 2013. May 27 2013 was Filmonik #1 and on May 27 2026 it will be Filmonik #128. We're celebrating by being back to Loop Roof this month only. With its leafy (and heated) rooftop, it's truly a world-unique setting to enjoy short films that we were lucky to call home for many years. This month again you should expect immediate, spontaneous, crafty, fun, inventive, weird and with urgent, current short films. Some old classics and worldwide hits will be thrown in for good measure. 🎨 Street Art Photo Walk & Conversation - Melb CBD
Join us for a relaxed street art walk through Melbourne's CBD, exploring laneways, murals, and hidden creative spots while enjoying easy, natural conversation along the way.
If you love photography, bring your camera or smart phone (charged) to snap some fun photos along the way. We often pose in front of our fave artworks. Be prepared to be silly with me 🤪… (optional of course)
This event is about moving at a comfortable pace, noticing what’s around us, and letting conversation unfold organically as we walk. There’s no need for art knowledge - curiosity is more than enough.
The walk has a **light structure to help things flow**, but nothing rigid. You’re welcome to chat as much or as little as you like and enjoy the experience in your own way.
After the walk, there are options to go for some Haigh's chocolate, or an afternoon dumplings snack, or play games at KingPin - talk to the people as we walk and see who might like to join you afterwards (completely optional).
This event is best suited to adults **approx. 25–50 who are young-at-heart** and enjoy exploring the city, being outdoors, and connecting through shared experiences. Strict age limit = 18+

The Creative Hustle is a social events group aimed at providing a hub for the professional artists, creatives and entrepreneurs of the Melbourne creative and arts scenes!
**(Please only attend if you fall in to these categories! There are plenty of other social meetups for people who do not have a creative hustle.)**
You know those conversations that just light you up? Make you remember why you started this journey and inspire you? This is where you’ll find them.
This group is more than just networking, it’s about meeting people who are on a similar journey to you where you can share your experiences to support each other, make genuine friends and perhaps find some people to collaborate with too!
Creativity can be bombarded by digital interactions, and require us to spend hours alone to work on our craft, often leading many people to mental health issues and feelings of isolation and loneliness. The Creative Hustle believes in the power of genuine friendships and human connection. As creatives, we know that some of our greatest inspirations and collaborations stem from the bonds we form with one another. This group is equally about social networking as it is business.
It’s time to stretch outside the comfort zone to forge new pathways in your profession all while building lasting friendships that enrich our lives in ways that only real connections can.
**NOTE ON TICKETS:**
I have always run Creative Hustle events for the last 3 years+ for free, and my mission has always been to keep them accessible for creatives. However I sacrifice time away from clients on Thursday nights, meaning that whilst keeping it accessible for others I haven't been able to keep it viable for myself. Moving forward, to keep it viable, cover costs of running the event, book better venues, help manage numbers and continue to attract people who are serious about what they do, I will be introducing a small fee. For this event your $20 ticket gets you a drink on entry (most house beer, wines and spirits are about $14-$15 at Village Belle) and the rest will be split across the above. Thank you for your understanding!
This format is very loose! Sometimes we follow, sometimes we let the conversation flow - it largely depends on sound levels at the venue:
15 min - General networking & social chat
30 min - 45 min - Round table intros: space for each person to share their creative endeavour for 1 min

Something that you are pursuing either as a side business, full time business or professional/semi professional that involves you creating something from nothing.
If you are a: Musician, Dancer, Fashion Designer, Photographer, Videographer, Graphic Designer, Actor, Interior Designer, freelancer, business owner, work for a company within the arts industry, or anything else I have missed that qualifies as creative, then this Meetup is for you.
Please respect that this is a group for people who put their heart and souls in to their work, and not just a group anyone can come to for networking unless you fall into the above categories. Please message if unsure.

**CODE OF CONDUCT:**
1. You have a creative hustle which means you are pursuing something which requires you to create, and you are pursuing this professionally as your full time business, side business, you work in a creative industry or because you love it.

Join me for an evening of live classical music at Hamer Hall as the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra performs Jaime conducts Dvořák, Smetana & Coll.
We’ll meet outside Hamer Hall first, say hello, then head in together for the 6:45pm pre-concert talk in the Hamer Hall Stalls Foyer before the 7:30pm concert.
The program includes Smetana’s Vltava, Francisco Coll’s Piano Concerto, and Dvořák’s Symphony No. 7. MSO lists Francisco Coll’s Piano Concerto as the Australian premiere of an MSO co-commission. The performance duration is listed as approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes, including a 20-minute interval.
This will be a relaxed, low-pressure meetup for anyone interested in orchestral music, whether you already attend classical concerts or just feel like trying something different. You’re very welcome to come solo.
We’ll meet before the talk so people do not have to arrive alone, and after the concert we can optionally grab dinner nearby if anyone is interested.

Meeting our Protectors: Inner Critics, People Pleasers, & Perfectionists
Internal Family Systems is a therapeutic approach that understands we are made up of many parts. Some are playful, creative or vulnerable. Others step in as protectors, who have developed to protect us at some point in our lives from pain, rejection or abandonment.
These protectors might show up as:
* the inner critic
* the people-pleaser
* the perfectionist
* the controller
* the caretaker
* the rebel
In this session, we will learn more about what IFS is. We will map some of the most common protector parts, focus in on one or two, and explore creative exercises to represent and/or dialogue with these parts. There will be an optional sharing to close.
The duration of the workshop will be between 1.5 and 2h depending on the number of attendees.

Budding poets, writers and lyricists join Melbourne Poets for our monthly Poetry & Prose Meetup! This is a true open mic event (usually without the need for a microphone). There'll be an opportunity to read your work (if you're brave enough) and listen to others over a drink or two. You don't need to be published; you just need to be passionate about your craft.
So grab a support buddy and come along to our luxe loungeroom hidden away in the 170-year-old bluestone cellars in East Melbourne's Tribeca precinct. We've got great cocktails, back-vintage wines, craft brews, amazing food, and good vibes in a chilled and supportive safe space.
RULES: This is a ticketed event due to limited seating capacity. $20 of your ticket price is offset against any bar drinks and food ordered through the venue on the day. Please ensure each piece is less than 5 minutes for those wanting to read. Depending on attendance and number of readers, there may be multiple opportunities to read.
