**What Is a Fair Society?** Justice is one of the most fundamental — and often contested — ideas in society. In a world shaped by inequality, opportunity, and competing interests, what would a truly fair society look like? Should fairness mean equality for all, or is some inequality acceptable? And if so, on what basis? Drawing on the work of John Rawls, this session explores the idea that a fair society is one we would choose if we did not know our own place within it. From this perspective, Rawls argues that inequality is only justified if it improves the situation of those who are worst off, offering a powerful way of thinking about fairness, opportunity, and social responsibility. The session will begin with a short introduction (around 10 minutes) to set out the key ideas. After that, the emphasis is on discussion and participation. The aim is to create a space where ideas can be explored together, with time for questions, reflection, and open conversation. No prior knowledge is needed — just curiosity and a willingness to think together. **Where:** Downstairs room, Square Pig, Holborn (private room) **NB:** The event begins at 7pm, doors open at 6:50pm. Each week, we come up to a different theme. It pushes your conversation skills up. It helps you to speak about many topics and to interact in French in multiple contexts. Regular attendees learn a lot, make improvements and are able to have a chat about numerous topic! The bonus, you will be able to ask questions to an authentic French native! **THE CLASS:** This is a face-to-face conversation class lasting 60 minutes run by a French native & professional tutor (in London since 2016). This is a Conversation Class dedicated to French learners who struggle to have a spontaneous conversation. If you think your French is rusty, if you feel not really comfortable to interact among a group of other French speakers, this class is for you (if not sure, send a message in French to the organiser). The class goes on an adapted pace with a first part dedicated to a chit-chat and then we'll focus on a short text to learn about French culture and the language. We approach the theme, read a short text (you get a copy for the session), speak, learn vocabulary and things about French culture. The theme is always linked to French, the French and France. At the end, we wrap up and keep a few minutes for some miscellaneous questions. After the class, you will get an email with a list of vocabulary (some words / expressions seen along the class). This is a very small group class: maximum of 4 attendees and a minimum of 2. So you will speak directly to the tutor. Optional drinks/lunch at the end of the walk. Come along on Sunday 26th April to visit the roof garden at 120 Fenchurch Street! **About 120 Fenchurch Street** Built in 2019, 120 Fenchurch Street is a 15 storey office block with a roof garden called 'The Garden at 120'. The garden is London's biggest roof terrace at 3,000sqft. It has a 200ft-long water feature, wildflowers, manicured hedges and relaxed seating. It is also home to 85 Italian wisteria trees and over 30 fruit trees. The garden its completely open to the elements and gives a stunning 360-degree view across London. Facilitated by hearing folks (with a connection to a professional interpreter) using Deaf-created content. People of all ASL skill levels are welcome! As we learn, we hope to connect more with the Deaf community in Central Ohio. Join us as you're able! Come regularly or just once - whatever you're looking for!
