Scienceworks Saturday: Pumping Station, Glow Show & Planetarium Marathon
Scienceworks Saturday: Pumping Station, Glow Show & Planetarium Marathon
Let’s spend Saturday exploring Scienceworks together. The plan is to meet at Scienceworks in the morning, then move through a full lineup of activities: the Pumping Station Guided Walk, The Glow Show in the Lightning Theatre, several Melbourne Planetarium sessions, and the 4:30pm Fulldome Flicks screening of One Step Beyond. This will be a fairly full day, but the vibe will be relaxed and low-pressure. There will be breaks between sessions, and we can chat, explore the museum, grab food/coffee, or just take it easy between shows. After the final session, anyone who wants to continue hanging out can join for optional dinner at Grazeland Melbourne nearby. Solo attendees are very welcome. **Who this is for** This is good for anyone interested in science, astronomy, space, engineering, museums, planetarium shows, or just doing something a bit different on a Saturday. You do not need to know anyone beforehand. I’ll be there from 10:30am and will help people find the group. **Links** * Meetup start point: [https://maps.app.goo.gl/XogEGEFLkeYryFmB7](https://maps.app.goo.gl/XogEGEFLkeYryFmB7) * Scienceworks Map: [https://museumsvictoria.com.au/scienceworks/plan-your-visit/visitor-map/](https://museumsvictoria.com.au/scienceworks/plan-your-visit/visitor-map/) Pumping Station Guided Walk: [https://museumsvictoria.com.au/scienceworks/whats-on/pumping-station-tour/](https://museumsvictoria.com.au/scienceworks/whats-on/pumping-station-tour/?utm_source=chatgpt.com) * The Glow Show: [https://museumsvictoria.com.au/scienceworks/whats-on/the-glow-show/](https://museumsvictoria.com.au/scienceworks/whats-on/the-glow-show/?utm_source=chatgpt.com) * Starlight: [https://museumsvictoria.com.au/scienceworks/whats-on/starlight/](https://museumsvictoria.com.au/scienceworks/whats-on/starlight/?utm_source=chatgpt.com) * Black Holes: [https://museumsvictoria.com.au/scienceworks/whats-on/black-holes/](https://museumsvictoria.com.au/scienceworks/whats-on/black-holes/?utm_source=chatgpt.com) * "Ticket to the Universe" show: [https://museumsvictoria.com.au/scienceworks/whats-on/ticket-to-the-universe/](https://museumsvictoria.com.au/scienceworks/whats-on/ticket-to-the-universe/?utm_source=chatgpt.com) * Fulldome Flicks: [https://museumsvictoria.com.au/scienceworks/whats-on/fulldome-flicks/](https://museumsvictoria.com.au/scienceworks/whats-on/fulldome-flicks/?utm_source=chatgpt.com) * Optional dinner — Grazeland Melbourne: [https://maps.app.goo.gl/NUD9ZTGT41NioKbMA](https://maps.app.goo.gl/NUD9ZTGT41NioKbMA) **Timeline** * 10:30am — Meet at Scienceworks * 11:00am — Pumping Station Guided Walk * 12:00pm — The Glow Show * 1:00pm — Starlight * 2:00pm — Black Holes * 3:00pm — Ticket to the Universe * 4:30pm — Fulldome Flicks: *One Step Beyond* * 5:30pm — Meetup ends * Afterwards — Optional dinner at Grazeland Melbourne food court The timeline is based on the current Scienceworks session schedule, but attendees should still check the official booking page before purchasing tickets. **Tickets / cost** Please buy your own tickets for the sessions you want to attend. Meetup RSVP does not include museum entry or session tickets. Scienceworks museum entry and individual show/session pricing can vary depending on what you book, so please check the official booking page carefully before purchasing. I recently purchased a Museums Victoria Membership, as it should work out cheaper for me in the long run with multiple museum / Scienceworks visits. If you think you may visit Scienceworks, Melbourne Museum, IMAX, or other Museums Victoria events more often, you may want to check whether membership is worth it for you too. Recommended sessions to book if you want to follow the full meetup plan: * 12:00pm — The Glow Show * 1:00pm — Starlight * 2:00pm — Black Holes * 3:00pm — Ticket to the Universe * 4:30pm — Fulldome Flicks: *One Step Beyond* The Pumping Station Guided Walk is currently listed as included with museum entry, but it is “book on arrival” and may depend on guide availability and weather conditions. Fulldome Flicks may have separate entry conditions, so please check the official ticket page when booking. **Transport** Scienceworks is in Spotswood. Public transport options include train to Spotswood Station, followed by about a 10-minute walk. Please check PTV before travelling in case of disruptions. **Food** There maybe be a café option at Scienceworks during the day, but we may have limited time between some sessions. You may want to bring water and some snacks. After the final session, we can optionally head to Grazeland Melbourne for dinner. Grazeland is next to Scienceworks and is currently listed as open on Saturdays from 12 noon to 10pm, with a $4 entry fee. **Bring** * Your booked tickets / booking confirmation * Water bottle * Snacks or lunch if you prefer not to rely only on café food * Comfortable shoes * Phone charger or power bank * A light jacket **What to expect** This is a full-day museum and planetarium meetup. Most of the day will be indoors, with some walking around Scienceworks and between session spaces. The group may move fairly quickly between sessions, so please arrive on time if you want to stay with the main group. You are also welcome to join only part of the day or leave early. The vibe will be relaxed, friendly, and social. **Weather / backup** Most of the meetup is indoors, so normal rain should not be an issue. The Pumping Station Guided Walk may be affected by guide availability or weather, so if that changes on the day, we can use that time to explore Scienceworks instead. **Important notes** Please book your own tickets in advance if you want to attend the timed shows. Some sessions may sell out. Please try to book the same session times listed in the timeline so we can stay together as a group. If your plans change, please update your RSVP to “Not Going” so numbers stay clear.

📚 #InPursuit – A Book Club for Builders, Thinkers, and Doers
📚 #InPursuit – A Book Club for Builders, Thinkers, and Doers
📚 #InPursuit is a book club for entrepreneurs, creatives, and curious minds who know personal growth fuels business growth. See a lot of RSPVPs and wonder how it works? We'll break up into groups of 6-8 to share our insights, then swap groups after 30-45min so you can maximise learning from everybody! Note: this even is not organised by or affiliated with The State Library of Victoria That's what #InPursuit is all about It’s not a traditional book club, it’s a space for people who are actively designing a better life through the pursuit of business, creativity, and personal growth. This event is for anyone #InPursuit of better business, life and relationships. Instead of reading the same book, we each come prepared to share one powerful insight from something we’ve read in the past 3-months. Anything non-fiction that’s moved us forward. Whether it’s a mindset shift, a productivity system, a new philosophy, or just a truth that punched us in the gut. This is a place to unpack it together and hear what others are learning too. We’re not just here to read. We’re here to integrate. Because when we grow, our business and our lives grow too. 🔍 Why Join? You'll leave with: *- 5–10 fresh insights from books you may never have picked up* *• Deeper awareness of how others think, lead, and evolve* New connections with people walking a similar path toward purpose, results, and impact This isn’t a lecture. It’s a room full of people building themselves while they build the thing. 📖 How It Works First time? No pressure to share, just come curious. We'll break up into groups of 6-8 and share our insights, then swap groups so you can maximise the learning! Returning? Bring one idea you’ve read about in the last 3-months and be ready to speak on: 1. What did you learn? 2. How did it shift your perspective about the world or yourself? 3. How has it changed the way you show up or behave? We keep it structured, but flexible. After sharing, we open up to Q&A, personal stories, challenges, and deep dives. Some of the best insights come from the conversations *after* the share. 🧠 Who This Is For • Entrepreneurs or side-hustlers finding their footing *Business owners, and doers building toward better* *• Curious minds who love ideas but care more about action* People tired of shallow conversations and hungry for growth If you’re working on something—or becoming someone—this space is for you. It’s a practice ground for people who want to grow forward. We’re all #InPursuit of mastery, momentum, and the kind of success that starts from within. Map on how to get there We're in the Create Quarter on the ground level (back right of the Quad as you enter from Swanson St). We'll likely be on a long table together. Our Tree of Wisdom
Our Tree of Wisdom
*‘Universally, trees have long been perceived as doors or gateways to other levels of consciousness, and humans have always honoured trees for their gifts and their wisdom.’* Fred Hageneder Under the auspicious influence of a New Moon in Taurus, join transpersonal art therapist and tarot reader Rachael Wildman as she turns our attention to the spirit of the Earth by focusing on trees; reminding us how we human beings have searched for Truth through the ages beneath their leafy boughs, providing insights into how we resemble these arboreal beings, and then looking at the symbolism of trees as they appear in the Tarot. The talk will then branch out into a description of the process she took in creating her own Tree of Growth tarot spread; detailing what instigated its creation, the inspirations that fertilized its growth and how the spread is read along with the self-transformative benefits that can be found in seeking its counsel. After the talk, time shall be given to explore the Tree of Growth spread as a collective process wherein everyone shall be granted the opportunity to participate, to divine a card through a simple ritual and then share insights into the reading of the spread for the benefit of a flourishing spiritual community. There is no need to bring along a tarot deck as one shall be supplied, nor is it necessary to be a seasoned theosophist or tarot reader; an open-hearted curiosity, a love of nature’s spirit and our own unique wisdom-seeking nature is all that is required. *‘Trees are the earth’s endless effort to speak to the listening heaven.’* Rabindranath Tagore **The MTS is committed to providing events that align with and further The three objects of The Theosophical Society:** * To form a nucleus of the universal brotherhood of humanity, without distinction of race, creed, sex, caste or colour. * To encourage the study of comparative religion, philosophy and science. * To investigate unexplained laws of nature and the powers latent in the human being. * However this being stated, the MTS does not endorse any health, spiritual, science-related, philosophical or theological /other assertions or claims made by any facilitator we host.

Understanding Our Support Needs (And Each Other's)
Understanding Our Support Needs (And Each Other's)
Neurodivergent brains come with their own operating manuals — but most of us were never handed ours. Some of us run hot on sensory input, others stall out on transitions, some need movement to think, others need silence to function. The tricky part is that our needs are often invisible, even to ourselves, until something tips us over. This month at Neurospicy Bayside, we're slowing down to look at two questions: * What support do I actually need to feel okay and do my best work? * What might the people around me need that I've never thought to ask about? We'll talk about the kinds of accommodations that exist (formal and informal — at work, at home, in social spaces), share what's worked and what hasn't, and gently map out where each of us tends to struggle. The goal isn't to fix anyone. It's to build a richer vocabulary for our own needs and a more compassionate lens for the people in our lives who might be quietly white-knuckling things we'd never guess. Bring yourself as you are. Stim, doodle, pace, listen, share as much or as little as feels right. Fidgets and ear defenders welcome. There's no expectation to disclose anything you don't want to. Looking forward to seeing you there.
Growth, Development and Sacrifice
Growth, Development and Sacrifice
Please join us this Sunday to discuss discomfort, growth and personal development. We will meet at the Captain Melville at 2pm for a 2:15pm start sharp. **Please note the new $5-10 mandatory donation entry fee** (cash or transfer on day) to help with MeetUp subscription costs, venue costs (food & drinks for table), etc. There is no pre-requisite preparation necessary, nor a philosophical background, all that is required is a curious mind. These discussions are both a Socrates Cafe style discussion and lively metaphysical dojo, in the spirit of learning and friendly debate, so please feel free to challenge assumptions and be prepared to have your own assumptions challenged. This event is also posted to the Philosophy Circle group. Topic questions below, however please note these are open sessions not strict to the below: * What does it mean to “improve” oneself? Are we trying to become our true selves, or create better versions of ourselves? * Does growth require discomfort? * Can unnecessary suffering be mistaken for productive discomfort? * Can suffering produce wisdom when it is reflected on properly? * Is courage the willingness to remain present inside discomfort? * Can comfort become a prison and lead to a shallow life? * Is personal growth possible without some form of sacrifice? * Is there a danger in constantly treating oneself as a project? * Should personal development aim at happiness, virtue, freedom, usefulness, wholeness or holiness? * Make makes a strong family? * What duties do children owe their parents, and what duties do parents owe their children? * What have religions and spiritual traditions said on the above questions? Hope to see you there!
Biological Evidence for Reincarnation
Biological Evidence for Reincarnation
**With 1000s of spontaneous cases with children** investigated and documented over the past 60+ years, the team at DOPS has accumulated a formidable body of evidence suggestive of reincarnation. The types of evidence include detailed memories of verified past lives, personal traits, skills, interests and phobias, etc. and among these the most compelling aspect is cases of birthmarks and birth defects that align with injuries sustained in the previous life, often at the time of death. **In this session, Russ Townsend** will lead a discussion around spontaneous past-life memories in children, how they are investigated and verified, common objections and refutations, and then a number of detailed case studies related to birthmarks and birth defects. At the conclusion, he will walk through the interpretations and theories about this phenomenon. **About Russ:** * Meetup Organiser * Lifelong enthusiast for science, philosophy, and spirituality * Member of AIPR * Trainer / Facilitator * radio show host * Author **Post-Event Social Lunch Hangout (12.45 - 1.45pm)** NOTE: TRYING OUT NEW LUNCH VENUE... Afterwards, you are invited to lunch with everyone at **Gopal's Restaurant** (5min walk from the venue) **PLEASE NOTE:** * **11AM Start -** Please be considerate and arrive early. * **$10 Cover Charge:** Room hire, facilities, and running costs.

How to Get Off-Market Deals With Direct-to-Seller Marketing
**How to Get Off-Market Deals With Direct-to-Seller Marketing** Want to learn how to get off-market deals through direct-to-seller marketing without relying on agents, wholesalers, or the MLS for consistent deal flow? That is exactly what we are covering at this next Columbus Investors Club Meetup. There is no real strategy, no clear math, no tracking, and no process to know what is actually working. At this meetup, we are going to break down how to reverse engineer direct-to-seller marketing using our SCALE framework so you can approach your marketing with more clarity, confidence, and consistency. We will cover how to think through inbound, outbound, and free marketing channels, how to choose the right channel for your goals, how to run the numbers before you spend, how to allocate the right budget, how to launch the campaign correctly, and how to evaluate and track performance so you can make better decisions moving forward. **SCALE Framework:** **S –** Select the right channel **C –** Calculate the numbers **A –** Allocate the budget **L –** Launch the campaign **E –** Evaluate and track it **What We’ll Cover** * How to get off-market deals through direct-to-seller marketing * How to stop guessing and start reverse engineering your marketing * The difference between inbound, outbound, and free marketing channels * How to choose the right channel for your business and market * How to calculate the numbers before launching * How to allocate a budget based on goals, not emotion * How to launch and track a campaign the right way * How to create more consistent and predictable deal flow **Date:** May 28, 2026 (Thursday) **Time:** 6 - 8pm EST **Location:** Ohio Brewing Company, 421 E 2nd Ave, Columbus, OH 43201 **Save Your Seat** → https://www.eventbrite.com/e/how-to-get-off-market-deals-with-direct-to-seller-marketing-tickets-1987845260686?aff=cicmeetupapp **FREE DRINKS & FOOD PROVIDED!** **About Columbus Investors Club** The Columbus Investors Club is a local meetup for real estate investors, aspiring investors, contractors, vendors, lenders, realtors, and other professionals who want to grow in the Columbus market.
