Farnborough Village - Cudham - Downe Circular, 9 miles, moderate
9 mile circular walk from Farnborough Village to Cudham then Single Street, Luxted, Downe and back to Farnborough Village, taking in part of High Elms Country Park and several picturesque woods and fields with a few steep uphill / downhills as we criss-cross local valleys. Bring a picnic lunch for midway and we’ll probably also stop for refreshments at one of the two pubs and a cafe in Downe on the way back.
Please meet at 10:15 to leave at 10:30 prompt from the triangular traffic island in the middle of **Farnborough Village** at junction of High Street and Church Road **BR6 7DB**, returning by 15:30. NB: **There is a £2 payment required for non-Ramblers Assoc. members** to help cover our Meetup costs. Please help the walk leader by **bringing the exact change**.Ramblers members are welcome on any of our walks, but we would still encourage you to RSVP on Meetup. This will give our volunteer walk leaders an idea of how many are attending, and also keep the numbers manageable. If, on the day of the walk, you are still on the waiting list and a Ramblers member, you can attend - just let the walk leader know you are coming by adding a comment '*Coming as a Rambler*'. Travel Drinks & Chat: A Fresh Start for 2026
**It's been a while! -** Kickstarting this Meetup Group for 2026
Been anyway cool in 2025? What do you have planned for 2026?
Let's meet up on 30th December, Double-Eve of the New Year, for a couple of post-Xmas drinks and a catch-up, or a welcome if you've joined recently.
No particular agenda or structure, just a few (maybe more than a few) people who exercise their passports frequently & are looking for some new ideas, or some good stories.
It's in that awkward week when nobody knows what day it is, but the 30th should be (mostly) OK for travel to London Bridge area.
Hope to see you there - and feel free to drop questions or comments in the messages.
✨3 day Edinburgh Hogmanay New Year's Eve Break!✨
So my surname used to be MacAngus… and I know a thing or two about Edinburgh! 😁🏴
It’s one of my fave UK cities that I’ve got to know well, and one of the world’s most famous places to ring in the New Year, so I'm super excited to invite you to join me and other women in our community on this new 3 day, 2 night break! 🥳
Hogmanay is the Scottish word for New Year’s Eve, considered the most important Scottish holiday as Christmas was virtually banned in Scotland for around 400 years so, until the 1950s many Scots worked over Christmas and celebrated their winter solstice holiday at New Year. So, simply put, the Scots know how to do NYE right! 🥳🙌
The highlight of Hogmanay is a massive outdoor street party beneath the iconic Edinburgh Castle, which is illuminated with a show stopping midnight fireworks display, then everyone joins hands to belt out ‘Auld Lang Syne’ before continuing to party into the wee hours! 😁
But I've got much more lined up to share this brilliant city with you too; so have a look at the link below for all the info...
If, like me, you’re bored of the Christmas and New Year hols being a bit of a meh, anti-climax, then join me and other women in our community who want to make the most of life, on a Scottish adventure to make this festive season a special one to remember! 🙌✨
And if you’ve been thinking about joining us on one of our bigger trips in the future, this short break could be the perfect little taster of your first group trip and way to sample what Travel Queen is all about! ☺️
But you’ll need to be quick; I announced this on social media only last week and 5 places went right away! We also need to get our hotel rooms confirmed and street party tickets booked ASAP as these are likely to sell out fast, and it really isn’t long off now…
Our new 3 day Edinburgh NYE Hogmanay city break is now live on the Travel Queen website so you can find out all you need to know there, book online and message me through the chat with any questions - here’s the link: [https://www.travel-queen.co.uk/edinburghnyebreak](https://www.travel-queen.co.uk/edinburghnyebreak)
Roll on Hogmanay ladies - who’s joining us?! 🥳
Mel x
(Please ignore the number of attendees here on Meet Up as this trip is mainly promoted directly through our website and most attendees will not be listed here.)
Looking for Travel Companion? Post it here
Kindly understand that This is Not an online event. We created this for the people to communicate with each other (in the comment section) to find their travel mates. However, since the Meetup site requires a date and time. We constantly have to update the date and time to keep the event alive.
**Dear friends,**
If you have plans to travel somewhere in the world, and you are looking for a travel mate/roommate, you can post it here to let others know, and maybe you can arrange to travel together.
It would probably be a good idea to meet up before deciding to travel together but at least this will give you a chance to find a like-minded travel mate.
**How to Choose the Right Travel-mate**
1. Have some common interests.
2. Avoid people who tend to extremes.
3. Agree on expenditures before you leave.
4. Make sure your personalities
5. Friends aren’t always good travel companions
6. Don’t go backpacking with a luxury-seeker
7. Make sure you’re able to communicate
8. Agree on a similar budget
9. Avoid picky, crazy and whiny individuals
10. Test each other on a short trip
11. You don’t have to be like a couple of inseparable lovebirds
Good Luck and Cheers,
Ree & Smyl

Columbus Comedy Improv Meetup at Gresso's!
Whether you've never done improv before, or you've done it for so long you knew Del Close on a personal level, or anywhere in between, come join us! Swing by *Gresso's* for the **Columbus Improv Comedy Meetup** for some fun and games!
The idea behind improv is to create entire scenes from scratch based on a suggestion from the audience. This can be done in game form, like *Whose Line Is It Anyway*, *ComedySportz*, or *Wild 'n Out*; it could also be done to tell stories, like *Middleditch and Schwartz*. Our meetup, which is central Ohio's longest running (and free!) weekly comedy event, brings the games (and occasionally different forms) for you to play in a safe, supportive, and compassionate environment. Not only is it a lot of fun, but you get to work on thinking faster on your feet, plus it's an excellent way to meet new people and make friendships that'll last a lifetime!
Ask yourself if you want to join the **Columbus Improv Comedy Meetup**, and say "Yes, And" that you'll have fun!
