In our first hour, we will be rewarded with fantastic views from Shoulder of Mutton Hill as we continue through forested slopes and over open fields towards Liss and then onto Liphook via a nice lunchtime pub stop (for drinks only). After Liss, we will walk down Shipwrights Way to Longmore and Weavers Down, an army managed access land which is eerily remote and wild with a range of different flora, shrubs and trees. Our 43rd Spiritual Creatives gathering - in person! Come and join us for a lovely walk and talk around Hampstead Heath. We are meeting just outside Hampstead Heath station (London Overground train) at 11.00 on Sunday the 26th of April. Please note: This is NOT Hampstead Station on the Northern Line! It is the Hampstead HEATH station. After a short break of 20-30 minutes, we then walk back through the Heath, taking the long way round to Parliament Hill, and conclude our stroll back to Hampstead Heath overground station around 2 to 2.30pm. (Please note that you may become so involved in your conversations that you end up losing sight of the main group! Unfortunately, there is no way for you to catch up with us once we have become separated (and we do NOT check our phones for texts or messages during our walk) so please be mindful and conscious to stay with the main group if you want to keep up. After returning to Hampstead Heath Overground station, many of our (usually hungry) members like to continue the camaraderie over lunch at one of the local cafés or restaurants. As our group has grown over the years, these gatherings can be quite large, so we usually have to split into smaller parties and explore different venues. Let's go with the flow and do this wonderfully varied 10 mile coastal walk ! Please arrive by 9.50am so as to buy group train tickets for the 10.15am train that arrives at Benfleet at 11.03am. Train tickets : Return to Southend Central. Or you may decide to drive. Please bring packed lunch ( or have fish and chips in the pub ), water, snacks etc plus waterproof jacket and walking shoes or trainers. If you decide to have fish and chips at The Peterboat please make a reservation for 1.30pm - 01702 475666 - and then place a comment on the event page stating whether it's a table for say 2, 4, 6 etc You should be able to walk at 2.5 miles per hour and have adequate and appropriate insurance for this type of activity. The walk shall commence by 11.15am. We shall first walk along the estuary to Leigh on Sea - visiting the remains of Hadleigh Castle along the way.
