House Concert with Audrey Jaber and Karen Axelrod In Washington, DC, Friday, May 15 8:00pm **Audrey Leigh Jaber** (fiddle and voice) and **Karen Axelrod** (piano and accordion) are two accomplished dance musicians deeply rooted in traditional music. Karen's playing is lyrical, expressive and full of energy, bringing a vibrant lift to the dance floor. Audrey is a versatile and dynamic fiddler, known for her rhythmic drive, spontaneity, and playful musicality. Together, their collaboration blends sensitivity and spark, creating a rich and engaging sound that moves effortlessly between intimacy and exuberance. Join us for Adventuring’s second PRE-Summer Picnic! We've decided it's just too hot in late July for picnics, so we're moving this annual event to May. We’re trying something new this year: Instead of a potluck, we are asking everyone to **bring your own lunch**. There is **no charge** this year for attending. We’ll be providing water, iced tea and desserts. We’ll also have an optional hike or two, plus a few games. It doesn’t matter if you haven’t hiked with us before or have only attended a few events – come get to know us and tell us what you’d like to see with Adventuring! Ben Mauger's Vintage Jazz Band brings hot swing to the DC area - come on out and don't forget your dancing shoes! The PRJC welcomes back a club favorite - trumpet and cornet virtuoso Ben Mauger, who has been pleasing audiences performing throughout the East Coast for over 25 years. His Pennsylvania based Vintage Jazz Band brings a program featuring a mix of classics from Louis Armstrong, Bix Biederbecke and hot trad jazz swing. Known for their energetic take on hot-jazz, Dixieland, and swing-from roaring '20s dance numbers to classic "Saints"-style tunes-this band delivers toe-tapping music and vibrant nostalgia. It'll be an afternoon of bright horns, swinging rhythms, and plenty of party-ready energy-and though Mother's Day will have passed, it's still a perfect way to celebrate our beloved Moms. This year.
