### โœจ KISMETRIX \| Love Mastery [Ticketed Event](https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/the-art-of-choosing-for-women-boundaries-standards-in-dating-tickets-1986299807193?utm-campaign=social&utm-content=attendeeshare&utm-medium=discovery&utm-term=listing&utm-source=cp&aff=ebdsshcopyurl) This is the first release of The Art of Choosing under our Love Mastery Series. **The Art of Choosing (For Women)** Boundaries & Standards in Dating ๐Ÿ“ RYVE โ€“ Level 1, 38 Shafton St, Huntingdale VIC ๐Ÿ“… Wednesday, 8 April 2026 ๐Ÿ•– 7:00 PM โ€“ 9:00 PM ## A WORKSHOP FOR WOMEN WHO WANT MORE THAN SURFACE-LEVEL CONNECTION This is not about how to attract more people. This is about learning how to **choose the right ones**. Many women donโ€™t struggle with meeting people โ€” they struggle with **discernment, boundaries, and trusting their own judgement**. If youโ€™ve ever felt: โ€ข You keep attracting the same patterns in dating โ€ข You ignore red flags or second-guess your intuition โ€ข You give too much, too soon โ€ข Youโ€™re unsure what you truly want in a partner โ€ข You want something deeper โ€” but donโ€™t know how to navigate modern dating This session is designed to support you. ## WHAT YOUโ€™LL GAIN โ€ข **Clarity** โ€” understanding what you truly want (beyond chemistry) โ€ข **Standards** โ€” defining your non-negotiables with confidence โ€ข **Boundaries** โ€” learning how to hold them without guilt โ€ข **Discernment** โ€” recognising red flags, green flags, and inconsistency early โ€ข **Self-awareness** โ€” understanding your patterns in attraction and attachment โ€ข **Decision-making** โ€” knowing when to lean inโ€ฆ and when to walk away ## THE KISMETRIX APPROACH At Kismetrix, we believe connection should feel natural, respectful, and aligned. This is not a rigid workshop. Itโ€™s a **guided, reflective space** with real conversations, practical insights, and the opportunity to deepen your understanding of how you show up in dating. This work doesnโ€™t stop here โ€” it carries into how you engage in real-life interactions, including Kismetrix events. ## WHO THIS IS FOR โ€ข Women who are intentional about dating and relationships โ€ข Women who value depth, emotional intelligence, and meaningful connection โ€ข Women who are ready to raise their standards โ€” without becoming closed off ## IMPORTANT NOTES โ€ข This is a discussion-based and reflective session (not lecture-style) โ€ข This is not a dating or matchmaking event โ€ข Outcomes in dating are never guaranteed โ€” this is about personal clarity โ€ข Respect, boundaries, and emotional safety are central to this space โ€ข Tickets are non-refundable but transferable ## Hosted by **KISMETRIX \| Love Mastery** ๐Ÿ“ง [social@kismetrix.com.au]() ๐ŸŒ [www.kismetrix.com.au]()

IN PERSON! Apache Kafkaยฎ Meetup (Apr 2026)
IN PERSON! Apache Kafkaยฎ Meetup (Apr 2026)
Hello everyone! Join us for an Apache Kafkaยฎ x Apache Flinkยฎ meetup on **Apr 9th from 5:30pm**, in Melbourne! The address, agenda, and speaker information can be found below. See you there! **๐Ÿ“Venue**: 394 High Street Northcote, Victoria 3070 \*\*\* **๐Ÿ—“ Agenda:** * 5:30pm: Doors open * 5:30pm - 6:00pm: Pizza, Drinks, and Networking * 6:00pm - 6:30pm: Chad Harris, Solutions Architect, Factor House * 6:30pm - 7:00pm: Stephen Ermann, Senior Customer Success Technical Architect * 7:00pm - 7:30pm: Additional Networking \*\*\* **๐Ÿ’ก Speaker:** Chad Harris, Solutions Architect, Factor House **Talk:** Things that go bump in the night: Kafka Operational Issues and How to Survive Them **Abstract:** Most Kafka talks focus on how things should workโ€”this one is about what actually happens in production. Weโ€™ll walk through real-world operational issues encountered with Apache Kafka and its clients, from subtle misconfigurations to full โ€œwhy is everything on fire?โ€ moments. Along the way, weโ€™ll break down how to identify whatโ€™s going wrong, which signals actually matter, and how to approach debugging when the system doesnโ€™t behave the way you expect. This talk will also touch on observability, common failure patterns, and practical mitigation strategies you can apply immediately. Expect a mix of technical deep dives, debugging workflows, and a few war stories (including some questionable decisions and log-staring sessions). If youโ€™ve ever wondered whether itโ€™s just you? It's not! **Bio:** Chad Harris is a streaming data specialist and Solutions Architect at Factor House, where he helps organisations design, scale, and operate Apache Kafka platforms using industry-leading tooling. With experience scaling Kafka across organisations ranging from small startups to some of Silicon Valley's largest companies, Chad has been working with Kafka since its early days. He brings deep expertise across both real-time streaming and data-at-rest systems, with a strong focus on practical, production-ready architectures. \-\-\-\-\- **๐Ÿ’ก Speaker:** Stephen Ermann, Senior Customer Success Technical Architect **Talk:** From Lag to Smooth Sailing: How Queues for Kafka (KIP-932) Fix Slow Consumers **Abstract:** Slow or bursty consumers are one of the most common reasons Kafka applications end up fighting lag, over-provisioning, and operational fire drills. Traditional Kafka consumer groups work brilliantly for high-throughput stream processing, but they can make it hard to serve heterogeneous consumers, apply backpressure cleanly, or guarantee fair access when some consumers fall behind. In this talk, weโ€™ll explore **Queues for Kafka**, the new KIP-932 feature that introduces native queue semantics on top of Kafkaโ€™s battle-tested log foundation. Weโ€™ll look at how queues decouple producer and consumer throughput, isolate slow consumers without penalising fast ones, and provide more predictable delivery and scaling behaviour for โ€œtaskโ€ and โ€œwork queueโ€ style workloads. Youโ€™ll walk away with: * A clear mental model of how Kafka queues differ from topics and consumer groups * Concrete design patterns for handling slow and spiky consumers * Migration tips for evolving existing Kafka-based services to use queues safely If youโ€™ve ever stared at a lag graph wondering whether to add more consumers, more partitions, or more coffee, this session will show you a cleaner path to smooth sailing with Kafka. **Bio:** Stephen Ermann is a **Senior Customer Success Technical Architect at Confluent**, working with leading financial institutions across APAC to design and operate mission-critical, real-time data platforms. With deep experience in **Apache Kafka**, **Confluent Cloud and Platform**, and surrounding ecosystems like **Kafka Connect** and **Apache Flink**, Stephen helps customers solve hard problems around scalability, reliability, and security in production. They are particularly focused on **RBAC, OAuth, mTLS, and container image security**, as well as emerging **agentic AI** patterns built on streaming data. Outside day-to-day architecture work, Stephen regularly shares practical patterns and lessons learned at meetups and user groups across the region. \*\*\* If you would like to speak or host our next event please let us know! community@[confluent.io](http://confluent.io/)
Picnic in the Park: Minimal living and Tiny Home Living
Picnic in the Park: Minimal living and Tiny Home Living
**About this event:** Have you been dreaming of going tiny? Are you curious about minimal living, off-grid setups, or just downsizing your life in Victoria? You are not alone! We are launching a new community for enthusiasts to connect, share stories, and support one another. Imagine a life with less clutter, less debt, and more freedom. We are building a community in Victoria for those who want to step away from the traditional housing market and embrace tiny homes and minimal living. For our first-ever meetup, we are keeping it simple. Weโ€™ll meet in the park to introduce ourselves and discuss what we want to create together. Whether you want to talk about the technical side (trailers, solar, regulations) or the lifestyle side (downsizing, remote work), this is the place to start. Come along, make new friends, and letโ€™s talk about how to make big dreams happen in tiny spaces. **What to expect:** This is a strictly casual, unstructured meetup. No presentations, no sales pitches, and no pressure. Just a relaxed afternoon in the park with like-minded people. Weโ€™re simply gathering to discuss: * Who is already living the tiny life? * Who is dreaming/planning? * What are the local hurdles (council rules, finding land, etc.)? * How can we support each other? **Who should come:** Whether you have your tiny house plans drawn up, you're already living in one, or you just watched a documentary and thought "I could do that"โ€”you are welcome here. **What to bring:** * A camping chair or picnic rug. * Your own snacks/drinks. * Sun protection (or an umbrellaโ€”it is Melbourne/Victoria after all!). **About Your Host** Hi, Iโ€™m Karen. After exploring over 50 countries, Iโ€™ve chosen Melbourne as my home. As an entrepreneur, Iโ€™ve come to realize that we don't need much to be truly happy. In fact, nature provides us with so many "free luxuries"โ€”from sunlight to green spacesโ€”that we often overlook in the modern world. I am channeling this philosophy into building my own tiny home in Victoria this year. I started this group because I realized that while the tiny house movement is growing, the journey can feel a bit lonely. I want to build a supportive local community where we can share resources, untangle the regulations, and help each other turn these small dreams into reality. * **Wet Weather Plan:** (e.g., "If it rains, we will move to a cafe close by.")

Hi Gophers! Join us this April for an evening of Go talks exploring real-world systems, from building a BitTorrent client to running Go on legacy architectures. We are looking forward to connecting with you. * **Agenda** **6:00pm โ€” Food & Networking** **6:30pm โ€” Intro + Go News** **6:45pm โ€” Talks** **8.00pm โ€” Wrap up then head out for kick ons** **๐ŸŽค Tom Clancy** **Building a BitTorrent client in Go** BitTorrent, first released in 2001 is a peer-to-peer protocol for file sharing. Its decentralised approach, where pieces of files are exchanged with peers (rather than a central server), is a natural fit for Go's concurrency model. This talk looks at the inner workings of the protocol, how to build your own client, and concurrency patterns for performance. Bio: Tom is a Software Engineer at Megaport, working on their edge networking functions platform (written in Go). **๐ŸŽค Sam Hobson** **Compiling Go for Ancient Architectures** Some customers approached Knocknoc asking if we can get our Go agent to run on their old HPUX PA-RISC and Solaris SPARC machines, both unsupported by Go, and we took on the challenge of finding a way to make it work Bio: "I'm Sam, I'm a software engineer of a couple of years working at a startup called Knocknoc on Just-in-time network layer access control software. Please come talk to me about cool stuff you're working on!" * **Interested in speaking at an upcoming event?** We will aim to have a mix of short (\~10min) and in-depth (20-30min) talks. Data & Analytics Wednesday - The Data-Driven Brand
Data & Analytics Wednesday - The Data-Driven Brand
**The Data-Driven Brand: Using Analytics to Shape Perception** Can you use analytics to improve tacos? This being CBUSDAW, we think the answer is probably โ€œyesโ€, but weโ€™re not sure how to implement or test this theory. For our April meetup weโ€™ve got Sara Kear, CMO of Condado Tacos, to investigate this delicious question. Sara will explore how she blends quantitative data and qualitative customer feedback to shape brand positioning and drive business decisions. We all know that marketing and analytics go way beyond attribution. Sara will show how Condado uses customer insights to inform product and pricing strategy. Sheโ€™ll also highlight how Condado leverages customer feedback at scale to influence operational priorities, positioning marketing as the voice of the customer across the organization. In the last 12 years Condado has gone from one location in Columbus to 52 locations across 10 states, so weโ€™re guessing thereโ€™s more to that growth than really good guac (though the guac probably helps). Ultimately, this talk focuses on the intersection of art and scienceโ€”using data to inform creativity and build a brand that resonates with customers in a measurable way. **About Our Speaker** Sara Kear is Chief Marketing Officer at Condado Tacos, where she oversees brand, restaurant design, menu and pricing strategy, off-premise including catering, and customer data strategy. Since joining in 2021, she has helped grow the brand from 19 to 52 locations while building a data-driven marketing organization focused on loyalty and customer insights. Condado has since been named to the Inc. 5000, recognized as Breakout Retailer by Chain Store Age, and consistently ranked among FastCasualโ€™s Top 100 Movers & Shakers.
