Welcome to Australian Financial Traders — a place to meet curious people, sharpen your thinking and help build the RobotMaker Community Hedge Fund research project. Bring your experience in forex, equities, indices, commodities, futures or crypto. Bring your first trading question. There is room for both.
Wall Street has research teams. We’re building ours together.
Our vision is a shared quantitative research network: members contribute ideas, code, computing power and critical thinking, while AI agents help investigate strategies, run experiments and organise the results. Each member keeps control of their own capital and trading decisions.
Imagine a community strategy library where an attractive equity curve starts a conversation: What is the drawdown? Does it survive costs? Does it hold up on unseen data? Can someone else reproduce the result?
From a trading idea to evidence

Bring a hypothesis. Turn a market observation into clear entry, exit and risk rules.
Build and test. Explore AI-assisted strategy code, historical backtests and parameter optimisation.
Challenge the result. Investigate out-of-sample performance, Monte Carlo scenarios, slippage and losing streaks.
Share what you learn. Compare reports, invite independent review and decide what deserves more research or paper trading.

A community worth contributing to
The platform vision includes a shared strategy library, member proposals and voting, and a contribution leaderboard. The planned Tokens and reputation system would recognise useful research and computing work — a way to help the community grow and direct its next experiments.

Join our live online masterclasses every Wednesday. We open the research tools, examine promising and rejected strategies, tackle questions and, when time allows, test an idea from the audience. Check each event listing for your local start time and joining link.
Beginners, experienced traders, programmers, data enthusiasts and quant tinkerers are welcome. You can contribute a thoughtful question long before you contribute any code.
