**The soul of earth exhibition** is time limited and will be ending soon so if you wanna view the collection, this maybe our last chance. We'll spend about 60 mins at the gallery taking in the imagery and then have a coffee / drink to reflect on what we saw.
We will meet outside The Dominion Theatre next door to Tottenham Court Road tube station, do quick intros in advance so we can focus on the actual artwork than talking inside (funny banter, artistic poses & jokes allowed) and then walk to the gallery 5 mins away. I will also share my number and gallery name with participants in the private comments (to keep out gatecrashers) with any further updates

Bank Hol Green Walk - Old Harlow to River Stort/Parndon Mill + (optional) Pub
Look out Harlow, here we come!! We're meeting at Epping Underground Station 10.45am and jumping on the 11 o'clock bus for a short hop to Harlow.
Or you can meet us about 11.15am at the Park Avenue bus stop by the Miller & Carter in London Rd, Harlow (CM17 9NG). There is plenty of parking around.
Please note the slightly earlier start time, as the buses only run every hour.
We're walking through the greenery of Old Harlow, up to the River Stort, over to Parndon Mill, and down through the magnificent Harlow Town Park to the (optional) pub. I plan to arrive at the pub mid-afternoon.
Thoes needing to get back to Epping can then get the same bus we came on back to the station. The Harlow National Rail station to Liverpool St will also be close by if anyone wants it.
If you haven't already paid for May, I ask for a nominal contribution of £2 to help with Meetup fees. You can alternatively do £4 to cover the whole of May (potentially seven walks this month), or some members choose to pay £20 for six months. No shrapnel please.

💀🎬 LEE CRONIN'S THE MUMMY (UNEARTHED AGAIN)
🗿 **An afternoon of supernatural ancient horror could be just the antidote for a bank holiday…**
👋 **Hey guys!** A bunch of us have decided to go watch this movie again, because some of us loved it, some of us are still on the fence… but it can’t be that bad if it’s worth a rewatch 👀
This project is by ***[Evil Dead Rise](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BqQNO7BzN08)*** director **Lee Cronin** and it's a standalone fresh take on the classic mummy mythos.
The premise is about the daughter of a journalist that disappears into the desert without a trace. Eight years later, the broken family are stunned when she is suddenly returned… And, what should of been a joyful reunion quickly turns into a shocking nightmare.
**The plan:** is to meet at the **Victory House Wine Bar** at **1:30pm** before heading over to **Vue Cinema West End.** The film will start at **2:15pm** in **Screen 2,** where you will find us in **row** **A5–A7** if you want to join us there (but choose wherever you feel more comfortable).
**Afterward:** we'll regroup for a **[Letterboxd](https://letterboxd.com/movieroadhouse/) review** then go for a few drinks and a meal possibly in **Chinatown.** You will find the **full schedule breakdown and addresses below.**
If you haven’t seen this yet, this is the perfect time to jump in if it’s too hot outside.
**Looking forward to seeing you all there!**

The 80's Events This Week
Discover what is happening in the next few days
90s & 00s Party
Thanks to those of you who joined our 90s & 00s night pilot in November and January!
Whereas our regular meetups are all about meeting new people and chatting, this one is more of a disco. We'll have more space for a dance floor, a DJ and the volume up!
\- \- \-
Get ready to hit the dance floor as we throw it back to the ultimate era of POP! From **Britney and Beyoncé** to **NSYNC and the Spice Girls**, we’re celebrating the icons who defined the 90s and 00s. Expect all the bangers, guilty pleasures, and sing-your-heart-out anthems you secretly (and not-so-secretly) love.
**When?**
Sat 9 May
Doors open 7PM
**Happy Hour in the first hour** – so bring your crew, grab a glowstick, and raise a glass to the queens and kings of pop.
Think **vinyls, VHS, glitter, neon lights** – and a stage wall that screams POP ICON.
Whether you’re a **Gen Z discovering the magic** or a **millennial reliving your prime**, this is the party for anyone who’s ever belted out “I Want It That Way” or “...Baby One More Time.”
FEVER FRIDAY: 20 - 30's SOCIAL MEETUP
Get ready to turn up the heat…
**FEVER FRIDAY** is the ultimate Friday night social for 20–30s ready to start the weekend right. Whether you’re coming with friends or solo, it’s the perfect place to meet new people, spark new connections, and make it a night to remember.
**Cocktail Offers**
Unmissable drink deals all night long.
**Open Room Karaoke**
Grab the mic and own the stage.
**Live DJ**
Party anthems and throwbacks to keep you dancing.
Dress up. Show up. Catch the FEVER.
Sex 🎸Drugs 🎤 Rock n Roll: Rockaoke With Live Rock Band 🎶
If you genuinely **love music** and meeting fellow music fans **-** then join for a super duper cool fun euphoric captivating night out with cool talented musicians and me and you performing songs from your favourite rock artists mixed with drinks, fun conversations, laughs and dancing at an imperial palace like no other
Not only do you get the rare chance to **meet** elusive **fellow** **music lovers** to enjoy standout live hits but you'll also have the option to **sing** **your favorite** **song** from the all time greatest music tunes catalog with a live rock n roll band (or if you're too nervous - grab me, we’ll make it happen!), as a high energy crowd cheer and singalong with you in full support
This epic night will be fully hosted by me untill the fat lady sings - a friendly funny radio/club DJ, singer, dancer, Musicologist with a natural innate flair to get musical vibes flowing through your every chord...
**Expect to hear or sing classic anthemic rock & Indie songs** from Bon Jovi, , Queen, Nirvana, Kings of Leon, Oasis, Bryan Adams, Guns N’ Roses, ACDC, Blur and 100 other musical legends
**=== High Octane** **Melody Fueled** **Night Out ===**
This will be a highly fun entertaining night out with high octane feelings
blanketed with an electrifying atmosphere charged with raw musical energy, soul and emotion. Whether you like to get in front of a mic at Karaoke or you're a secret car perfomer - expect symphonies to unfold in harmony with a vibrant crowd of young music lovers as the band transforms you from boring city of London exe by day into a **rock star** for the night. And if you have a natural sense of rhythm it would be selfish not to show off your charismatic stage presence by droppin some **funky dance moves** as no rock star performance is complete without!
Of course, you don't need to get up and perform - if you **love music** but don't want to sing, you are welcome to socialise, cheer, singalong and dance with the rest of us. Slots to build melody fueled new connections are strictly limited. So in order to give genuine music fans a fair chance to attend - as per attendance rules **\- anyone who has not answered the screening question properly or does not demonstrate passion for music as indicated by interests listed in their profiles \- will be moved to not going to create space for like\-minded genuine people**
**=== If You're Singing ===**
You don't need vocals like Zara Larsson or Amy Winehouse - most of us are not professional singers - we do this for pure fun indulgence, entertaininment and love of music but if you've never sung live with a band on stage before - ideally choose a song that you know the lyrics / musical timing too well. We'll have **two** **experienced guitarists** (base and electric)**,** a **drummer** who also do **backing vocals** to help out if you get lost.
**=== Venue & Itinerary ===**
We are back at our Camden venue with the band offering excellent choice of songs. Early on we will meet around the bar area and once the first song hits most of us will move closer to the front stage to dance and singalong to the tracks so come on time for early intros - when the band starts it gets pretty loud. I will share my number on the eve and update in the comments section on whereabouts.
**=== MUSIC ONLY EVENTS ===**
For music fans who love music and want to hear about mostly free music‑related events in London, we do have an exclusive WhatsApp group you can join subject to minimal vetting. If you have attended an event before or at least met the organiser in person send me a request and I will add you / send you link to join:! I’ll share all my music events here in advance first so people can RSVP earlier and avoid waiting lists. People can also share last min non‑meetup MUSIC events too.

The Mercy of the Gods by James S. A. Corey
Join us for Mercy of the Gods by James S. A. Corey.
How humanity came to the planet called Anjiin is lost in the fog of history, but that history is about to end. The Carryx - part empire, part hive - have waged wars of conquest for centuries, destroying or enslaving species across the galaxy. Now, they are facing a great and deathless enemy. The key to their survival may rest with the humans of Anjiin. Caught up in academic intrigue and affairs of the heart, Dafyd Alkhor is pleased just to be an assistant to a brilliant scientist and his celebrated research team. Then the Carryx ships descend, decimating the human population and taking the best and brightest of Anjiin society away to serve on the Carryx homeworld, and Dafyd is swept along with them. They are dropped in the middle of a struggle they barely understand, set in a competition against the other captive species with extinction as the price of failure.
Only Dafyd and a handful of his companions see past the Darwinian contest to the deeper game that they must play to learning to understand - and manipulate - the Carryx themselves. With a noble but suicidal human rebellion on one hand and strange and murderous enemies on the other, the team pays a terrible price to become the trusted servants of their new rulers. Dafyd Alkhor is a simple man swept up in events that are beyond his control and more vast than his imagination.
He will become the champion of humanity and its betrayer, the most hated man in history and the guardian of his people. This is where his story begins.

Choose Your Movie: THE SHEEP DETECTIVES vs HOKUM at Cinemark Stoneridge!
Join us as we get together to see your choice of two VERY different movies – one sweet and wholesome – the other a terrifying folklore horror! Option 1 is the fun whodunnit-action-comedy-mystery led by Hugh Jackman, THE SHEEP DETECTIVES! Option 2 is the top-reviewed supernatural-horror-thriller starring Adam Scott, HOKUM! Here’s a description, trailer and plan for this event:
THE SHEEP DETECTIVES: Every night a shepherd reads aloud a murder mystery, pretending his sheep can understand. When he is found dead, the sheep realize at once that it was a murder and think they know everything about how to go about solving it. The film is directed by Kyle Balda and take a look at this ensemble cast: Hugh Jackman, Nicholas Braun, Molly Gordon, Hong Chau and Emma Thompson and the voices of Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Bryan Cranston, Chris O'Dowd, Regina Hall, Patrick Stewart, Bella Ramsey, Brett Goldstein and Rhys Darby. TRAILER: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pyZI5oM6hWk
HOKUM: In this film, a horror writer visits an Irish inn to scatter his parents' ashes, unaware the property is said to be haunted by a witch. It is written/directed by Damian McCarthy stars Adam Scott, Peter Coonan, David Wilmot, Florence Ordesh and Austin Amelio. Hokum premiered to rave reviews at this year’s SXSW Festival and is being release by Neon. It is earning a stellar 97% positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which calls it, “A classic haunted house story enriched with atmospheric folklore and perfectly-timed shocks!” TRAILER: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EVCIK_MPyhc
PLAN: We’ll plan for a 7pm-ish showing of both films and will meet inside the theater lobby about 20 minutes before showtime. If the showtimes work out, we’ll try to get both groups together for a bite before the shows! Complete details and showtime will be confirmed/announced as the date gets closer.
Look forward to seeing you there, Dan
