JOIN US! Moon Over Buffalo comedy
Please read all details:
Join us for the opening night of the Music and Drama Club's production of the ***Moon Over Buffalo***. This is the theater group sponsored by the Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MAD. Continue scrolling to see plot description, ticket prices, link and venue.
**Plot description**: Ken Ludwigâs ***Moon over Buffalo*** is a comedy about a husband-and-wife acting duo, George and Charlotte Hay, who are performing in repertory in Buffalo, New York in 1953. Their careers are on the brink of disaster when they learn that famous film director Frank Capra might be coming to see their show, giving them a potential last chance at Hollywood stardom. However, everything that can go wrong does go wrong. With slamming doors, mistaken identities and costume malfunctions, this hilarious play has all of the classic elements of a farce. Parental Guidance suggested: some material may not be suitable for children. (Scroll down).
A live musical cabaret will entertain us as we gather and socialize before the play begins. The play begins at 7p.m. I've listed the start time as **6:30 in order to get seats together** and listen to the cabaret.
**Prices:** There's a $4.00 Discount on Opening Weekend
Regular prices are: $22 for adults, $20 for seniors (60+)/military, $12 for children/students/interns
**[https://madtheater.org/](https://madtheater.org/)** and click "Tickets on Sale now!" link.
**Venue Location:** The Barney and Bea Recreation Center 9998 Good Luck Rd, Glenn Dale, MD 20771
**Why parental guidance?** Because the humor depends on marital strife, an extramarital affair, alcohol abuse played for comedy, and suggestive farce situationsâplus sharp arguing and rough physical anticsâmany theaters and schools choose to post a content note so parents can decide if it fits their expectations for their childrenâs maturity level. Message me with your cell phone if you want me to send you the detailed results of my search on perplexity.ai.

**The TonyÂŽ Award-winning Best Musical that took the world by storm is back.**
**THE WIZ** returns âhomeâ to stages across America in an all-new tour, direct from Broadway. The Baltimore Sun raves âPowerhouse performances. Stunning choreography. Visionary setsâ and the *Chicago Sun-Times* proclaims **THE WIZ** is âAn eye-popping and high-intensity revival!â This groundbreaking twist on *The Wizard of Oz* changed the face of Broadwayâfrom its iconic score packed with soul, gospel, rock, and 70s funk to its stirring tale of Dorothyâs journey to find her place in a contemporary world. With direction by Schele Williams (*The Notebook*, revival of Disneyâs *Aida*), choreography by JaQuel Knight (BeyoncĂŠâs âSingle Ladies,â *Black Is* *King*) and additional material by Tony-nominated and Emmy-nominated writer and TV host Amber Ruffin (*The Amber Ruffin Show, Late Night with Seth Meyers*), this dynamite infusion of ballet, jazz, and modern pop brings a whole new groove to easing on down the road. Everybody rejoice!

A Poetry Workshop
Hey Poetry Lovers!
This group is on a roll. Hereâs the gist:
We meet at the **Capital One CafĂŠ in Chinatown** from **12pm - 2pm** every other week.
For enrichment, we start by reading and reflecting on a **âpublished poemâ**, suggested by someone in the group. No advance preparation is necessary. But feel free to check out some of the poems weâve read [here](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vSyE_wCLQCPHRrKmN5F9tOIeeRQUZESxjRXGVBoCF2uU8Gm0_d0uECiCBCQXEy6ksxfsBOhtRIOpW3T/pubhtml?gid=0&single=true&widget=true&headers=false%22%3E%3C/iframe%3E). Next, we **share our work and offer feedback**. Depending on attendance, everyone gets \~10 minutes to use as they like. (No need to share, though; youâre welcome to come even if you prefer just to listen.)
We maintain a **Discord server** to help share our work and communicate outside our bi-weekly meet-ups. When we meet you on Saturday, we will add you to our server, the âDC Poetry Workshopâ, and can help you navigate the app if you have questions.
Finally, if you plan on sharing a poem, consider how you will do so. Some options include:
* Print 5-10 copies to distribute in person
* Take and share screenshots in the Discord chat.
* Copy the poem into a google doc, change sharing settings to âanyone with linkâ, and copy the google doc link into the Discord chat.
Most importantly, weâre excited to meet you!
