Our women-only badminton sessions are open to players of all abilities, from beginners to more experienced players. This session is designed to be friendly, inclusive, and supportive, providing a comfortable space to play, learn, and improve at your own pace. **What this is** A relaxed group ride around the Olympic Park, followed by a stop for a coffee or pint. The paths are wide, there’s no traffic, and it’s set up so everyone can ride at an easy pace and actually talk to each other. It’s more about meeting women and riding together than doing anything intense. Most women come on their own. That’s completely normal here and we make sure you don’t feel it. Women usually range from their 20s through to their 60s. It’s normally a mix of new and returning women, so you won’t be the only new person there. If you’re feeling nervous, that’s very common. **Suzie Tudor-Hart, RIP- fundraising concert for St Raphael's Hospice** Last month, one of our founding members, Suzie Tudor Hart spent her past ten days in the wonderfully caring and efficient St Raphael’s Hospice- which is free of charge for Merton residents. This hospice get just 25% of their funding from the NHS. We are hoping to raise £2,000 to give to St Raphael’s. Entry for this concert is just £3 for a single ticket or £5 for a family ticket for two adults and up to three children. There will be a free bar for soft and alcoholic drinks, and chorus sheets for all guests. We will be singing two sets of eight sea shanty songs, and will there will also be one tuneful set of songs from our local choir- the Colliers Wood Chorus. Parking in the nearby side streets is free on Sundays, or Christ Church is about three minutes walk from Colliers Wood Station. Sunday rehearsal with Castellers of London. Meet us at the OBC Community Centre to help build human towers! This get together is a great opportunity for you to meet new friends, socialise and have a go and explore your abilities as a human tower builder a.k.a Casteller! For newcomers we have a team of trained Castellers who will introduce you to the group, guide you through the activity and help you safely take part in this unique Catalan tradition. When you arrive just approach us as we are really friendly! If in doubt ask for Cuss! Please let us know if you are bringing guests. After the rehearsal we go to a nearby pub for social drinks where everyone is welcome :) What do you need? 1. Ideally a cotton shirt: to protect your neck and shoulders, the more durable the shirt/top the better. We do not recommend any thin items of clothing! 2. Jeans: allowing you to move freely without breaking. 3. Mask: We still require the use of a mask as you will be very close to your fellow Castellers - basically you will be hugging people! The rest of the equipment is on us! We take health and safety very seriously, both in relation to COVID-19 and also the activity- please be assured that the safety of all participants is of the utmost importance to us and we take all necessary precautions to minimize the risk, ensuring we all have a great time! Our regular members won't be filling in the Meet Up to say they are going 🙂 So don't be put off if you see only a handful have said they are going. A minimum of 25 on the day is normal. What the Meet Up may show is how many new people like yourself are going.

Join us for an approximately 5 mile walk from Kings Cross Station along Regents Canal to Little Venice where we will enjoy this year's [canalways cavalcade](https://waterways.org.uk/support/ways-to-get-involved/events/iwa-canalway-cavalcade-2026), the celebration of London's boating community. There will be music, food and drink and potentially even Morris Dancing. The scenic walk along the Regent's Canal should take us under 2 hours and you will have to be fit to attend this walk. The festival is always very busy and we will therefore split up into smaller groups once there to be able to move around. We are going to meet at the [birdcage](https://www.alamy.com/stock-photo/birdcage-kings-cross.html?sortBy=relevant) at Kings Cross station. That is close to the Germany Gymnasium, outside Kings Cross underground station. As always, please only sign up if you are intending to attend. The event is free but the usual £1.50 are a none refundable maintenance fee and meetup will also charge you £0.60. We would appreciated it if you cancelled no later than 2 days before the event and to please avoid cancelling on the day as that may get you removed from the group.
